I think it would have been great to have commentary for every episode. And here's why:

I watched "Shindig" and thought it was a lot of fun. During the ballroom scenes, Inara's dress always struck me as interesting. I put the DVD in at a friend's house (Patricia sews all my historic gowns and costumes) and she tipped her head when she saw Inara's back.

She looked and said, "Someone cut that material incorrectly and the back wouldn't close. They must not have had time to fix it and just sewed her into it."

Last night, I watched it with commentary and anyone else who has done that knows that one of the women doing the play-by-play is the costume designer. She said that the seamstress sewed the gown pieces together upside down or something wacky and, no, it wouldn't close. They had to stitch down top of the back and sew Marena into it.

Gorgeous dresses. The one the little mean wench was wearing might have to be a project for Patricia. *whistling innocently*

Sooooo, my point is. For which episodes would you have wanted to see commentary available and besides general purposes, why?

"Just keep walkin, preacher man."

Oh, YES!

I would love to see the commentary for Safe. In one of the commentaries (I believe it was Serenity), Nathan Fillion makes a vague reference to incest and a commentary on Safe. But sadly...no such thing exists.

I don't see any kind of incest in Simon and River, but it would be really interesting to see Joss tease Sean Maher and Summer Glau about those scenes. That would be hi-larious!
It would also be interesting to see how they took the relationship, acting-wise.

Ooh...I would love to see a commentary on EVERY episode. But from what I've heard about DVDs, seven is very nice.

I think the most important commentaries were there, thankfully (Serenity, The Train Job, Out of Gas, and Objects in Space). If I had to pick one more, it would be Bushwhacked to learn more about the Reavers and what influences created them.

Probably on "Our Mrs. Reynolds", to get more insight from Joss and how he wrote that ep, and maybe from some of the actors.

Also, "Ariel" is another one that could use a commentary, preferabbly on stuff like how the episode was made concerning the hospital sets and the effects, and again actor input would be nice.

commentaries on Ariel and Jaynestown would have been nice ...

Ariel for the insight on the hospital, the technical stuff, etc

Jaynestown to allow Adam Baldwin to comment on his character in one of the more lighthearted episodes in the series
