It's a fermented beverage. Likening to cough syrup is probably the most complimentary I could ever be about such things; usually I liken them more to gasoline. Or rancid tauntaun bile. I imagine since it's honey wine, it reminded me most of the honey-related cough medicine, I wouldn't say it tasted much like lemons.
So glad the semester is starting on Monday and I won't have to go to work so much.

Survived another week.

Having a RL beer. LIG.

Those charts will still be waiting for me on Monday, ambushing me like Hobbes when I open the office door. For now, they are sleeping. (Yes, like Hobbes.)

Water's on for pasta, waiting for the hubster and boychild to come home. (No, not to go on the pasta, to go AROUND the pasta!)

PR: Have you ever tried creme de cassis? It's blackcurrant liquer. Quite nice and fairly mellow in flavor. It's used *in* things normally like white wine (Kir) or champagne (Kir Royale), but I like it in hot cider and other such bevvies.

Been a strange couple of weeks. Rose was fired from her job of 6 years on New Years eve by her assistant manager. After a few days, she called the store manager and spoke to him.

Rose has her job back

But in the meantime, I think I will keep an eye out for something better for her.

"Here. I whittled you this for Rose. It's a magic job-fishing pole."

(Hands over a card which reads: "Wave around as needed and see what you can land.")

There is fine print on the back of the card indicating that the item is not guaranteed to work, the manufacturer cannot be held liable or responsible for results, and the warranty implied or otherwise is null and void should the item be used or in fact touched by the recipient virtually or physically. Furthermore they will deny all knowledge of the aforementioned item and initiate litigation for slander on your part should you even hint at having it. Sign here in blood, yours, please. In other news, temperatures are up above freezing. First time since mid december I think. As the pipes thaw out you can notice the bursts here nad there in the roads, I had to dodge a few spontaneous street fountains on the way to college today.

Ok, I'm bored of the weather now. I wouldn't mind if I lived in a country that could cope with a few days of snow and cold but we're in the middle of epic fail and walking accross pavements which are basically sheet ice is getting old fast!

Hey everyone, I'll stop moaning now! How we all doing? Seeing shiney things from HK!

New year, OU work arrived and I'm getting to start early, seeing really good mates this weekend and get to own someone at a computer game for once, ok it's guitar hero and I'm cheating as am drummer but still it counts right? Week after that I'm off to see sis and fiance, getting measured for suits as somehow usher and next weekend, have Christmas present from other half's folks in form of a Red Kite walk. January is teh awesome, except for this damn weather!

Ben now!

(Takes a magic drink. Then another.)

I do so love being called "incompetent motherfucker" by a patient. I think it shall become my new hobby.

(Reaches for a third drink, then realizes that a virtual hangover is still no fun.)

I'm going to bed. Then I'm going to work again, and I'll be repeating the process Friday.

Luckily for me a visionary was assassinated before I was born so that someday we could all get Monday off. (That was tasteless bad humor and possibly sacreligious. I KNOW that his death was not a good thing and we get the day off to celebrate his life and work. Nobody has to accuse me of bigotry or disrespect. I think he might actually laugh at the totally wrong humor.) You have to wonder if anybody ever called MLK "incompetent motherfucker". I'd probably feel a little better if they had.

I need to spend a day away from people who come to you for help because they don't have many choices about where to go, then insult you for trying to help them.
I really hope she feels better.
Bitch.

*edit*
I'm sorry. I was complaining again, wasn't I..

In my head he's saying "Watch as the stealthy HK slowly circles her prey, keeping well hidden so she doesn't alarm them. While the Zero is aware of her presence, her patience lures Zero into a false sense of security. HK waits for the perfect moment to pounce."

"A clean pub is a happy pub!"

(Restocks breakables room, checks temp on chocolate hot tub, peeks out side door to see if Forsaken pyre's embers are still banked properly, poofs the pillows and airs the blankets in the nap loft, does the stock order for the bar, turns on the grill, plugs in the jukebox, dusts the potted palms, surveys the effect, nods to self, walks to front door and turns over the open sign. Which reads "Open" on both sides.)

OH! HEY!
The Indigo is an awesome tribal fusion bellydance group (or something along those lines - I suck at describey stuff) that I've relatively recently fallen in love with. And they're currently on tour! Unfortunately for me, they're not coming anywhere near this frozen wasteland. Smart ladies.

If you've got some free time, take a look....

This is the first video I ever saw of them; love at first sight / listen:

And here's a longish video from their current tour, Le Serpent Rouge:

Current tour dates:
Thursday, March 25 - Nashville, The Exit In
Friday, March 26th - Asheville, NC, The Rocket Room
Saturday, March 27th - Asheville Workshops with The Indigo.
Sunday, March 28th - Atlanta, GA, The Earl
Tuesday, March 30th - Lexington, KY, Buster's
Wednesday, March 31st - Pittsburg, PA, The Rex
Thursday, April 1st - Washington, DC, The Birchmere
Friday, April 2nd - Boston, MA, The Oberon
Saturday, April 3rd - Asbury Park, NJ, Asbury Lanes
Sunday, April 4th - NYC, The Union Pool

(Again, sorry for taking up so much space... I just adore these ladies.) ^__^
