Hey Guys,
I just stumbled up on a "play through" of a computer game called Mass Effect 2. Though the poster calls it walkthrough, he actually plays it.

Currently there are 25+ vids in HD on his channel. The first one is at

The universe of Mass Effect 2 is so much alike the 'verse of the Firefly. It is set in 2183, and of course it is a sci-fi. Filled with mystery, and traversing the universe, from one planet to another. Some completely mysterious species (just like Reavers), who wipe out whole human colonies. I am very sure that you guys will find it so much like Firefly 'verse.

It is action packed, and contains aliens (but many of them are friendly). There's a ship called Omega 4 Relay, which is just like the on featured in Episode 12 of Firefly (the one with the dead Tracey). Aliens are so interwoven with humans in this game.

Give it a try. I am sure you guys will like it. Watch in HD, and if you watch one ep after another, it will feel like watching an action packed movie like serenity.

As a side note, one of the trusty companion of the main character is called Miranda, played by very gorgeous, Yvonne Strahovsky.

Also check out Club Afterlife in part 10 and 11. Man, I love the song that plays in the background.

I'm playing mass effect 2 right now... well, not right now, now I'm posting this reply during a load, but I have the game on. There are many things for a fan of the verse to like in this game, I loved the first and I'm loving the sequel too.

If anyone out there is thinking of picking it up, and hasn't played the first game, I suggest you get that first. Not only is it an awesome game, but it'll get you up to speed on the story, and you can import your character from the first game into the second and continue on.

I just thought about the first installment of the game, because I don't get many scenes of the game. But at the same time, I realized that not knowing a few things, creates an intriguing mystery. Like I donno Cerberus or Reapers or Krogans etc.. it is like Blue Sun, and Alliance..etc..

But I will surely give it a try..

I posted a thread similar to this a couple days ago. I'm currently playing it (my third playthrough because i love it that much), and the references to firefly are most definitely there: Joker, the pilot has a sort of "wash-like" vibe to him, the blue sun mercenaries, even a downloadable character, Zaeed, seems to be a reference to Jayne.

i would say it's more like Star Wars than Firefly. but this is one of the best games i've ever played with a really good story...and Adam Baldwin, Kieth David, Tricia Helfer, Michael Hogan and Seth Green.

You might find it surprising, but I did not grow up watching Star Wars, nor I have seen all of those movies..may be I should give it a try..

After I read Adam Baldwin, I did a bit of search and I was surprised to see, how many voices I did not recognize. :( Adam Baldwin, Carrie Ann Moss, Tricia Helfer? Dude, seriously, I need to reboot my brain.. I couldn't recognize Adam Baldwin in Jackie Chan Adventures either..not until, I read it on imdb.

I remember watching that video back when it was first shown during the pre-release hype up and it amused me how Adam Baldwin managed to get in his reference to serenity. Blade Runner and Star Wars might be a little closer to the mark, but you can't waste a good chance to mention the verse, and there are certainly moments that seem like a little nod to the series we're all here for.
