This Rant is for all you Rant-ers out there. You, who write Rants for no other reason than to spread fear and disharmony. You, who, in your infinite wisdom, write a Rant convinced you are in the right and will wave off any opposition with a smirk and a "I know I am right, and you can't change my mind" attitude. (This is self same attitude of arrogance that caused the Holy Roman Empire to ban all knowledge and led to the West being in a Dark Age for close to 800 years!) You, who think that you are the only ones in the known universe that can see the matter clearly. You, who Rant on and on about a little thing that has no bearing upon anything. You, who think that our life under the current president is so terrible and that life was so perfect under previous administrations. You, who Rant about things you have very little personal knowledge of, and yet, speak as if an authority upon the subject. You, who Rant needlessly. You, who Rant pointlessly. You, who Rant on inanely. You, who Rant redundantly. You, who Rant with no reason but to see your own Rant posted. You, who wontonly Rant as if to prove a point, but only disprove your own point later in your Rant. You, who consistently Rant as if your Rants were poignant, earth shattering, and an important essay upon our daily lives.

And all this, because you feel safe in your anonymity behind the computer screen. Well, I for one have had it. I will read no more Rants. I will post in no more Rant threads. I will shun all who write such threads and I will encourage those who feel the same to do likewise. Your day of being a pseudo Michael Moore is through. Down with the Rant. Down with the Ranters. No more.

PEACE

I don't know that we have that much to complain about. Sure, some people on this site rant-- sometimes they're offensive-- sometimes they argue politics (God help us). But I compare the general tone of FFF.net to a site like, say, Aint It Cool News, and I know we're blesssed. If a thread on AICN doesn't degenerate into screaming imprecations about each respondent's habits, ancestry and personal hygiene within five posts, it's a miracle.

Maybe we just got a higher caliber of poster....or most of us can keep our eyes on the ball. Whatever it is, I'm grateful for it.

Oh, bugger! Now I have to wait for someone to wake up!

That was just breathtaking. Loved the rant (for once). I have to heartily agree with him. The only rant I've seen recently was Succatash's disastrous anti-Static/anti-U.S./anti-Bush rant. I wanted to vomit. I posted and still wanted to vomit. Please, oh, please, I implore you: if you have such vitriol, keep it to yourself.
