'...How did this Firefly comic come together? Did you approach them or did they come to you with it?

I was on an episode of Dollhouse. Joss and I could not have more interests in common. I was talking to him like an annoying fanboy about Firefly and I think he was being very tolerant of me. I was like, “Do you remember in that one episode when…” I had read the Firefly comics that they did for Dark Horse. It’s like being a Wire fan. Any extras that are out there, you want them because there’s such a finite amount of the thing that you love. The fact that he was expanding on the story about the man with the blue hands in the comics, it just made you go, “Oh, hey, what about…?” He said, “If you have an idea for a story, pitch me some stories.” I pitched him three stories and he really liked the Wash one, so that’s the one we did.'

AWESOME ! Three Pilots telling WASH stories ! Doesn't get much better than that...

Sure would be nice if we could get a monthly comic. Like Buffy, Angel and now Spike?

Absolutely shiny!

my son has a CD of his comedy and I really enjoyed it. Then he was actually quite good in Dollhouse (lucky bastard got to cuddle with Eliza), and now he's the Oprah-type dude on Caprica.

I'm beginning to really like this guy. Plus he loves Firefly and Kaylee, what's not to like?

Awesome and shiny is perfect description for this latest Firefly ep "Float Out" - Thanks for posting this bit of news. This can only help in keeping the 'Verse alive.

Awwww I wish I knew he was such a huge fan. I saw him at a small club a couple years back. He hung out after the show by the bar and talked to people but I had nothing to say to him so I just left. If I had know I would have totally talked to him about Firefly.

Oh my local shop can't keep Serenity comics on the shelves. He sells out of every run and printing and even when he orders more than he thinks he needs he still sells out. I don't think our problem lies there. I don't believe it lies w/ Dark Horse either. They've obviously seen the numbers and revenue the comics generate so that leaves us one explaination. For whatever reason Joss has not okayed a monthly comic like we see in Buffy & Angel. Not sure why, but whatever the reason it blows. If it is fear of the 'verse he loves not being treated well I say that is an irrational fear. Obviously there are writers doing Buffy and Angel justice so I'd say there are writers out there who could do the same with Serenity.

Perhaps we need to show up on the doorstep of Joss to voice our support for a comic.
