So, I heard on the NPR recording that Joss has agreed to do a comic book for a year or so w/ marvel in the xmen universe. Anyone know the series, name or when it starts under his directions? With no other Joss on TV after the last of angel, it might be interesting to see if his role in the book (plot? dialogue? drawing?) is enough to satisfy the joss fix. I mean, fanfiction helps, but we gotta do our best to show Fox what a cash cow they missed out on by alienating one of the greatest ever!!

Joss is going to be writing "Astonishing X-Men" and he's contracted for 12 monthly books. Art is by John Cassaday (of Planetary, among others).

The impression I've gotten is that the whole X-Men universe is going through a revamp, starting in May. I think they're calling it X-Men: Reload. A lot of the teams are being reconfigured, the costumes are coming back, and a lot of the writer/artist combos are being redone. (Chris Claremont is taking over one of the other titles, for example.)

I think I read somewhere that Joss got to handpick which characters he wanted to write. I won't say which ones, for fear of being spoiler-y, but if you want more info, go dig through the archives at:

They've had links to a lot of good info about the book, including a recent interview with Cassaday, and a while back an interview with Joe Quesada and one of the other editors at Marvel about the whole new concept.
