I'd suggest large quantities of whatever substance you take to feel better, 'cause you're gonna be ticked for quite a while. But we're all , and we've all been

I've been here around five years, and it still gets me...

Watch the movie Serenity, if ya haven't already, there's graffic novels and literature aplenty- with one about Shepard Book comin' out in a few months...

Glad ta have ya on board, Stoney, have a mug of Mudder's Milk an sit a spell!! Feel free to tell us about yourself and to tell others about Firefly!

Are you also aware of the movie that followed the series?

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

If you read comics, there are still a few stories left for you. Although the tone is generally a little more "over the top" than the series, they're written by writers from the series, so the dialogue is spot on.

THOSE LEFT BEHIND (available as a trade paperback at most book chains): If you think of SERENITY as "Season Two," TLB is definitely the first season finale. It ties up some threads from the series and serves as a bridge to the movie.

BETTER DAYS (also available as a trade paperback): Another three-issue "episode," this one basically asks the question "What does the crew do when a job finally goes really, really right?"

FLOAT OUT: A one-shot that released from Dark Horse Comics just a few weeks ago. This is the only official fiction that takes place after the movie, so although it's not necessarily the best, you should save it for last.

THE OTHER HALF: An online comic short story (I'm sure someone can provide the link) that takes place shortly before the movie.

Another comic, THE SHEPHERD'S TALE (featuring Book's mysterious backstory) will be available later this year.

Speaking non-comically, you might want to try to Firefly Visual Companions. The first two volumes include the scripts for the episodes, as well as quite a bit of support material, while the thirst one addresses how the series has lived on past its finale. It includes a few pieces of short fiction from writers of the series (although not Joss himself).

I think that's most of the official fiction. If you need more of a fix, you're going to have to get creative. You can try out the role-playing game, or Joss's next series, DOLLHOUSE (which, as it continued, I became increasing convinced was a "clearing house" for some of his FIREFLY ideas). There are also at least three older Joss-penned movies that contain elements of FIREFLY: Titan AE, Atlantis, and Alien: Resurrection (especially this one, which features a prototype version of our crew).

If you're willing to try fanfic, there's a lot of good stuff out there. The Blue Sun Room here is devoted to it, and I'll finish by tooting the horn of my own project (link in my signature), in which we finish up Season One with 7 more episodes before doing a full 22-episode Season Two using the story of the movie for a basis.

No matter what approach you take, though, you're not done with the 'Verse just yet!

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Good to have you here posting w/ us StonedImmaculate. Glad to see new browncoats still showing up and know the 'verse is still having a profound impact on people out there.

Looks like my fellow browncoats have already covered the exisiting comics, the visual companions, the Big Damn Movie Serenity, and Browncoat Redemption which we are all looking forward to.

We've all been where you are right now, and being here and discussing the 'verse with like minded individuals sure helps. I've been around here since Fox pulled the plug and a better bunch of people you'll never meet.

Hey Stoned, It's your first viewing, so I'm curious why you like the show so much. And if there were 20 more episodes would you still feel sad as you approached the last two?

Look for your closest local group of browncoats to meet up with. No matter how many times someone new finds the Houston Browncoats, we never get tired of seeing a new browncoat find their way "home."

Don't know where you're located, but when you get through the series and you're ready for the movie be sure to check out http://www.cantstoptheserenity.com/

There may be a screening of the movie near you and you can watch it on the big screen.

I too am new to Firefly. My friend showed it to me and it is my favorite TV show. Which is saying something because for the most part I'm not a huge TV series person.

I didn't find out that it was just 1 season and a movie until halfway through the episodes. I was so mad.

We need to get bill gates or someone addicted to this show to front the money to make another season.

Haha that's an idea I actually haven't heard before. Firefly for Billionaires. I bet we could find addresses for lots of billionaires and send them a copy of the boxset. How awesome would it be if one of them liked the show so much that they funded it's revival?
