New "House" was on tonight and I said to myself "That girl's dad looks reallly familiar."
20 minutes later....
"Hey hon, come in here and at this guy, I know he was in Firefly somewhere!!"
He gets it in like 4 seconds, the bastard....
Scroll down to find out..

Ta DA- Dwier Brown! He played Yo-Saff's husband from Bellaraphon(sp?)

Does anyone here know if any of our BDH's have ever been on TMZ? I click that through occasionally but haven't seen any of them...

Do we care? Are we caring about this...?

Simple curiosity...

And I've noticed they tend to have only people who are currently doing something or have been around for a looong time. Just wondering if our BDH's are "mainstream enough" for that yet?

Not that I'm wishing the poparazzi on them or anything...

I think it's a big week for him, I was clicking through CSI and saw him there, too... Good for him though!

Also, he's been in lots of shows like ER and Ally Mcbeal and one of my favorite movies when I was younger -The Cutting Edge...Never would have put that together If I hadn't just looked it up

Yes, I am saying thank you to the under- appreciated villians, for they have a truly hard job...To get along with a whole set of people they probably don't know...To totally fall in and adapt themselves to playing the prigs that give our favorite stories balance and "the man" in the Man vs. Man. A stuggle not with self or with nature but mano e mano. They get passed around show to show like whores and hated and ignored for their contribution. What would Firefly be without them- a soap opera in space!
Thanks, Guys, for signing on to our little show and being a big part of what made Firefly kick ass!

Thanks, Jubal and Durran and Atherton and un-named guy who shot Mal and the Operative and to Patience(who played a great bitch) and Niska!(forget anyone?)

I may be speaking for myself, but I loved you all!!!

We have Gunsmoke in syndication here in Milwaukee and they usrd the same people several imes as different characters. I guess they figured people would forget from one season to the next. But now ot is broadcast five days a week and you notice an actor who was a gunslinger in one episode and returns as a farmer suffering from a drought in another episode. Like Victor French. He was in several episodes of Gunsmoke over the years and would finally make it as a regular on Little House on the Prairie and then on Highway to Heaven.

Then there is Mark Sheppard who played Badger on Firefly. I watched the first few seasons of Medium and Mr. Sheppard was cast as a evil spirit that would show up in a few episodes of that series. So playing character roles increases your resume and that can lead to bigger roles. I would like to see more Mr. Sheppard. He did fine work in both shows.

I totally agree. I remember him the best from X-files in an eppisode called "Fire". One of my fav's. Apparently he was also in Voyager, though I can't remember where...

Nowadays he turns up in all sorts of stuff - Burn Notice, Supernatural, Warehouse 13, Chuck, Leverage, White Collar...

Wish I had time to watch any of them *sigh*. Or just sit down...This is all I get, and only for about eight minutes at a time. Well, there's Castle, too, but that's on after she's in bed, and besides, you have to draw the line somewhere

You've never heard people who have played villians talk about the strange reactions they get from other people? That part I know. The rest I was being a little derisive on but I'm sure a lot of them would rather be ona regular show making bigger bucks and with better recognition than being "um, that guy on that one show that one time?". I would think most people get into acting for those reasons with it being fun a secondary. I am just putting myself in their shoes, having to kow-tow to new directors and getting along with new groups of people all the time- not exactly torture but it can't be easy, either.

How many times a day do I gotta tell y'all stop taking me sooooo seriously? Sardonical is a lost art, I tell ya....

Maybe if I post in the form of a beer commercial?.......

Good thread WishIMay

I think a lot of folk here follow our BDH’s and support them as much as possible. As a browncoat, that is also one of the reasons I still have faith that there is life ( or should be, at least a tv mini series) flowing through the tubes and electrical conduit of our favorite Firefly “Serenity”.

As for the “other” less known actors that were a part of that show.

Christina Hendricks has done rather well for herself. Photo covers pop up of her all over the place, and “Mad Men” is a big hit. I also have seen her on a short run tv series on NBC called “Life”, which was cancelled a little while back. I really liked that show. Wish it had been on longer. It also had the actress that played the part of the nurse/house mother in the Firefly episode “Safe” on one episode.

Mark Sheppard, like was mentioned above has been in Warehouse 13 a few times, and Jewel and Sean were in an eps of WH13 also. Mark had played a part in the short run tv remake of “ The Bionic Woman” which was on NBC also.

I find it so exhilarating to see a tv shows like WH13 advertise an episode as “ Firefly’s-Jewel Staite & Sean Maher” or like Tom Bergeron (Dancing with the Stars) introduced Nathan Fillion’s famous “Castile” episode as “ Stay tuned you Firefly fans for a special episode of Castile coming next.”

Even the actors who had only those bit parts on FF are recognized all the time. Methinks there was a lot more to that tv show than the network it aired on gave it credit for. They sure as heck keep hiring Joss back and using him as a whipping post.

Firefly could return with another season on another network and be successful easily. There’s an already build-in fandom for the show.

Just FYI....

Gregg Henry, who played Sheriff Bourne in "The Train Job" was on Medium last night. Not a villian, but apparently has been acting for over 30 years. His bio says he was in Star Trek: Insurrection so I'll have to re-watch that tonight :)

Pretty good lookin' guy, says I. Always have had a soft spot for tall older men, though.

Gregg Henry is a favorite of mine. He manages to steal every scene he is in. He was brilliant in SLITHER.....even topped our Nathan. Great actor.
