ok to start this, most of these are probaly bull so you cant blame me for any of these , i got these from various sources, some reliable others not so.Enjoy and beware.

alexis densiof(wesley in angel)has a uncredited part in serenity.

a xbox exclusive game is being made in conjunctoin with the movie.

a graphic novel is being made to fill in what happend in the 6 months between the series and the movie.

a scene in the movie shows mal looking distraught after something hes just had to do.

two characters in the film WILL be killed (probaly supporting characters, but you never no with joss)

serenity will be seriously damaged through out the last half of the movie.

more browncoats will be seen in the movie(probaly flash back)

like ive said this could all be bull but i thought id post it anyway in case there is any truth in any of this.

They are sound pretty cool if they turn out to be true I think the graphic novel one is the most interesting as I definately think that the backstory needs to be filled out somehow. Can you give us any hints on your sources for these or were they just gathered from around the web.

I hope the xbox game isn't true... if it is, I'll have to buy one :-\

I'd much rather a PC game. Heck, I'd much rather I was making the gorram game, but beggers cant be choosers.

Damn, that blows. The chance that a game of that sort would be good is so small, I don't have a good enough computer to calculate it.

BLACKOUTNIGHTS

The graphic novel would be soooooo cool. Especially if they did it right, and had a paperback version and a nicer limited print hardback (like maybe 2,000) with leather/cloth binding—something like DC did with George Pratt's Enemy Ace with bonuses like a special piece of artwork stuck on the inside, and the script for the book could also be included.

*rubbing my greedy little hands*

Ohhhhhhh baby.

DC really did a nice job with their hardback graphic novels in the early-mid 90s. Many of the Sandman compilations were richly decorated. Difficult stuff to find "For Sale" too, because of the limited nature of the books and the fact that anyone who purchased them in the first place does not want to sell. I don't know if they still do as good as before, I got out of the comic market for several reasons, primarily because the stories became lame, but also because of the industry's greed. I believe one was a result of the other.

Anyhow....graphic novel. Great idea! True? I doubt it. Let's hope they get a good artist if it is true. (I'd love to see Bill Sienkievich draw it).

Actually, I think somebody on FFFn is already putting together something with Firefly characters and maps for NWN. Check the site for graphics, I know I've seen a Mal and a Zoe skin. It's do-able, and based on the popularity of SW KOTOR, Dungeon Siege and NWN, I could see a commercial production of Firefly.

In fact, it'd be even more challenging, because unlike those other games where it's kinda easy to determine what conversational responses you need to select in order to stay in character and develop along your selected path, who knows what to say to stay on the "Zoe path", the "Jayne Path" or even the "Mal path"? Our favorite characters are anything but one-dimensional...

Of course, River'd be easy; that'd be the "River Walk". Get it? See, um, Summer's from San Antonio and, uh...

...And Niska would be the "Psycho path", Saffron the "Bridal path", Wash the "Glide path" (pilot humor), ad nauseum. (Hey, I didn't say it was a good joke).

Respectfully,

zoid

The movie hasn't even started filming yet. How would anyone know if his role was credited or not? Bull, most likely, although possible.

Probably true, though I doubt they've thought that far ahead yet. How long does it take to make a video game?

I seriously doubt this. Though a graphic novelization of the movie is quite possible.

This one's so vague it's got to be true. Like Nostradamus's premonitions.

We'll see.

Possible, I guess.

Quite possible. The loss of the war plays a big role in defining Mal's character.

Thanks for posting this. I don't believe post of it, but it's still interesting.

FORRESTWOLF

*waves at the mention of NWN*

That's be me - and Jubilee, her taking a slightly different approach.

3 games down, actually, of NWN Firefly - no custom firefly skins, really, per se - just some nifty models already made in NWN for "modern", "western", and "renaissance" outfits and scenery. I did reskin a few things with Blue Sun logos and ads, and did a lot in the way of 2-D stuff like portraits and loadscreens, as well as lots of music.

Anyway, it works - and I'd like to think much better than an X-Box version. The key is this, in regards to the conversations: I don't use "scripted" conversations. The style of NWN we play is dungeon-mastered (refereed) only. As a DM, I'm invisible, playing all the various non-starring characters the players encounter. A group (crew) of 4-6 players runs their own Serenity-class transport, fixes broken compression coils, lands on Higgen's Moon, brawls with locals and Alliance troops, etc.

Very different style than a "computer game" - it's very much like the RP'ing elsewhere on this board, but at super-speed (real-time), and with rules (actual gaming rules). Quality of conversation suffers as a result (it's improv-quality), but the sponteneity is priceless.

The captain getting down on his knees and asking God to not give him another crew like this one, or the pilot heading over to the singer in Canton for a bad rendition of Hero of Canton - it's really great stuff.

If they do X-Box, I hope the RPG'ing is good - good convo's, good puzzles. But I'm not TOO hopeful...

MISSAYATAM

I sooooo hope that the graphic novel part is true. I loooooove manga and graphic novels ! I also hope the video game part is true ... but not on the X-box. I don't own one or care to. I prefer the PS2 much better. It would be nice if they would market firefly stuff too. I would love to have posters to put up on my walls.
