But I'll tell ya, I still tell people that Firely is the best damn series ever made. I think it's more likely because all of us at one time or another felt like we were the fire hydrant rather than the dog. But the fact that they were still flyin' made you want to jump up and cheer.

It is my sincerest hope that, before I die, I'll find a show from the beginning that makes me feel as excited and hopeful as what Firefly did. It's doubtful, but not impossible. Joss might get to write another series. I hope that someday, somehow, if that ever happens, I'll get to see it.

Remember at the end of The 5th Element, after all was said and done, the young priest shoved his arm in the air and yelled, "YEAH!"? That's the feeling I get when I watch any of the episodes of Firefly.

Someday, somehow, I hope to feel that feeling again about a show. It would definitely be another highlight in an otherwise singular existence.

May any browncoat who reads this live long, be well, and always have good dreams.
