The 4th Annual Browncoats Backwoods Bash!

Saturday, Sept 17th, 10:30am- ?? pm

At The Waterfall Shelter, Cascades Park, Bloomington IN

Yes, we're still flyin'! It will be hard to top last year's Bash, but we're going to try. This year, we've moved the event to the center of Southern Indiana. This should make it a little easier for folks to get to, and yet still enjoy that "Backwoodsy" feel of the past events.

We've got a great location, in a wooded park across the stream from a really cool playground, and a short walk from a seasonal waterfall. There's a Buddhist Monastery about half a Block away. So you can't beat the setting!

As always, the Backwoods Bash is a pitch-in Picnic for Charity. Good Dogs and other meats will be provided, along with some drinkables. You help out with the rest. There will be a large screen TV for airing 'Verse related videos, and a swag table with loads of BC collectibles, with the proceedings going to charity. Specifically, Middleway House of Bloomington, a shelter for abused women and children.

We're trying to round up some entertainment for this year. If anyone out there can help us find an Accoustic performer of Firefly-related songs, who won't ask for much compensation (if any beyond CD sales), we need to talk with them.

The finer details are still being worked out, so keep watching this link for updates! Xie-xie!

Well, at least there'll be SOMETHING to look forward to this year....

Good idea posting so early, I'll see if I can get the people who wanted to come last year to actually make it this year... They can't say I didn't give them enough time, heh.

Ohh, I'll totally have to start working on new costumes now...

We're trying to get a musical act for the 'Bash, who will sell CDs afterward. The concert itself will be accoustic, and free. We're also talking to the producers of "Ruins of Du Khang" to see if we can show their film. Cross your fingers, everyone!

The Director/Producer/writer of "Ruins of Du Khang" has expressed an interest in attending. We had a screening of "Browncoats: Redemption" last year, with an exclusive interview of Michael Dougherty. So this fits rightt in with our "Grass Roots Shindig" style of event.

Sounds like a blast! I'd like to meet the gang. If I can get vacation time from the Army I'd love to come out.

[Inara: It's all right. I mostly keep to myself. When I'm not whoring.]

Currently, 7 months before the 'Bash, we have 23 confirmed Attendees, with 38 "maybes" listed on the FaceBook page. Shiny, y'all!
