Well, it seems that some fellow Browncoats at the Official Board are fearful that the Official Board will be closed soon. I'm not sure how they know this but they are trying to find a way to regroup should it happen. They are looking at some of the old boards that were used back when the OB was originall closed down but it seems they either don't exist or aren't working. Some mentioned FFF.net but it seems they believe they won't be welcomed here. I posted that they would but maybe something of a more official source like Haken telling them will get it in their heads that no one seems to have grudge against the people at the OB and they would be welcome to regroup their community over here should the inevitable betrayal occurs.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

It looks like some members of the Official Board had a bad experience here a while back. Heck, I've had some bad experiences here - SouthernSlayer has had about the worst - but we've had many more good ones.

I think welcoming them is a nice gesture, but really it boils down to a first impression of FFFn, not all of which will be favourable. But if they read this post first...

W W EEEEE L CCCC OOO M M EEEEE
W W E L C O O MM MM E
W W W EEEE L C O O M M M EEEE
WWWWW E L C O O M M E
W W EEEEE LLLLL CCCC OOO M M EEEEE

I hope Succatash makes another "welcome" video!

No one has any inside line on the OB closing soon.. it's just contingency talk. Fox closed the board once... and people didn't know where to go. Now, of course, there are more well known options.

Well, personally I have found my first little while here great I was greeted warmly and after that, no-one pointed the finger shouting "outsider! outsider! your opinion matters not!". In fact it has all been quite the opposite.

So, if anyone from OB is reading this, come and try the waters again. I have the utmost confidence that the bad experience was an isolated incident. After all, what have you to lose but a few key strokes

I have no grudge and all are welcome. Whether FFF.NET's infrastructure can sustain the increase in traffic is another matter. But, really, I don't think the OB is going to disappear anytime soon. And if it does, I'm sure Universal or Mutant Enemy will have something up and running to replace it.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I know when the OB was shut down before there was an influx of traffic here, and some went out of their way to alienate the newcomers. Never understood why, and felt a bit ashamed at the behavior of them as did it.

I have no issues w/ the OB or the people that post there. I feel all are welcome here and I would hope that should the need arise the posters at the OB would feel welcome here and find FFF.net a place they can call home.

Just sayin'.
