What a great show.

Seriously, how good was this show?

How awesome(er than it already was) could this show have been?

I don't think 14 episodes was enough to make it a better show than Buffy (or Angel), but man, what a great show. It could have been so much better than either.

But you know what I think really makes the show special? The FANS. What a fantastic bunch of people the browncoats are. The only criticism I may have is that you're all too nice.

Peace.

I've seen people try to move on to other shows and fandoms, but they always end up coming back. It's a combination of things, and ultimately the message that appeals to them. It's truer than most tv shows, both in the characters and acting, the depiction of struggle in a universe that's built against you from the start, and the defiance of that same system.

Absolutely. The writing, dialogue, and world created is great, but it's the characters that make you keep coming back. These are a bunch of imperfect but lovable people, just getting by.

Me too. I also like how Serenity/Firefly/the Browncoats/Independents are the exact opposite of the Alliance/Miranda. Earthy and real as oppose to 'perfect', yet cold and lifeless.

Seriously Stegasaurus Miranda??? I want to live on Serenity as part of the crew. I'd probably argue with Mal alot about his decisions/plans and "suggest" more effective ways of doing things but we'd probably be good friends despite both being set in our ways. I'd be in awe of Zoe mess with Jayne's head, get into trouble scheming and pranking with Wash, talk about different types of people and their motivations with Inara and Kaylee as well as designing/creating jewellery and other bits and pieces for them and everyone else and fixing stuff not engine related, philosophise with Book, talk shop re brain and body functions with Simon, big sisterise and translate for River...I just want to live there

I want to live there, too. The first time I saw the ship, I thought she was just plain ugly, but now I love every tattered bit about her. She is a thing of beauty, and so is her crew.

(sharp intake of breath)...I always thought she was beautiful. Practical hard working nothing superficial about her everything on the surface where it should be :-)

I can't say I would want to live there, but it is my very favorite show and I sure enjoy and, yes, admire, the charactors, at least most of them. But I enjoy them all. I think 14 episodes is enough to be the best TV show ever.
