INVADERCHAT

Hello, this is definitely a longshot (possibly of the impossible variety) but I figured I might as well put it out there.

Basically I saw this thread back before I even joined the site and I'm searching for it. Can't remember the title or what it was about, just that it had a really interesting little discussion in there (and one specific post) regarding regarding the whole 'No one in the verse can stop me' line. It was an epic post completely over analyzing the whole thing (in my opinion)and tying the quote to some Buddhist quote or something. I remember finding it overblown but really interesting and can NOT find it so if anyone's sifting through old threads or somehow magically remembers it then please show me!

Thanks ^_^

Now that's what you call a 'longshot' or 'a needle in haystack'.
Sorry, don't remember it myself but if I see it I'll shout up. Of course you realise that if anyone does find it they'll then have trouble finding this thread to let you know. Life's like that.

Yeah, sorry I don't remember anything like that. If you can remember anything more specific (such as the Buddhist quote in question) or who the poster was or something, Google might be able to help.

This line was used in 7500 threads. I just checked. If you have a date I might be able to find it.

7500 huh....that sure is a whole load of threads, I definitely thought it was a longshot.

Unfortunately I simply can not remember the actual quote, it was basically something like 'No power in the 'verse can stop me' and then saying that it had something to do with a 'verse' from a Buddhist text. The poster went on to suggest that this meant that River was declaring that she was battling through her craziness and nothing the Buddhist verse said was going to stop her so it probably had something to do with mind/mental state or mental fortitude or something but I vaguely remember it as being somewhat negative as she was disagreeing with it or something. Like I said, over-analysing and a bit silly but ultimately pretty interesting.

I'm basically just spouting whatever I can remember here, which isn't much. I appreciate everyone's responses though, just keep an eye out

DREAMTROVE

Depends if you're someone's sockpuppet. If you're not, I'm going to assume that it was within the last year, so you can click the "search options" button on google on the left hand side and select date range.

My google searches started like this:

site:fireflyfans.net

Then i add a space and the phrase Im looking for

"no power in the 'verse"

if you want multiple versions, add || between them

"no power in the 'verse"||"no power in the verse"

Then a space, and then your next search term (s)

buddha||buddhism||buddhist||buddhists

If I select for one year and do that search, I get nothing, but about 200 that mention Buddha before that and 85 that mention either buddhism buddhist or buddhists.

You can also add something like "post new thread" to cut out blue sun items, or you can add something else to select only for blue sun items, but it has to be a common word from the blue sun page like "SHOW ME MORE FANFICS..."

Knowing roughly when this thread was posted and last answered is extremely helpful, not only can you select date range, you can sort by data and flip to the right page.

Also, worth noting: Google is glitchy. It's very buggy software. No one seems to notice this, but it's as glitchy as FFF.net. Sometimes if "No power in the verse can stop me" doesn't work, "no power" "verse can stop" will. I have no reason to think they wouldn't fuck up the date thing.

You can also just page through archived threads if you know which discussion board and the general date.
