Coming this May.

The fact that Tom Cruise called this film an embarrassment to his career makes me like it all the more(You can embarrass yourself without the help of this movie Tom).

Seriously, I can't wait to see this in high definition. My favorite live action fantasy film of all time. Like the Blade Runner BD, this will include all versions of the film.
Thank you Ridley Scott, you just made my year.

I love the film, better than LOTR, in point of fact. I have the DVDs, not sure I'm getting the BR- the DVDs look phenomenal as is. Gimme a review when you get 'em & turn me around, Oppyh!

You got it.

Being a huge fan, I'm not taking this one lightly. It is going to take a a vast improvement over the dvd for me to be completely satisfied.

Which version do you like best? I sometimes watch one, sometimes the other, sometimes a mix of the two. More often the theatrical release, though.

I really only care about the theatrical cut. The extended version has some neat scenes, and the Jerry Goldsmith score is pretty good, but I like the Theatrical version best. It just seems like a tighter film, and I LOVE the Tangerine Dream score.

I don't have the film on DVD. I do have the TD score on CD.

So guess which version I prefer...? :-)

I think, here in the UK, the "theatrical" release had the Goldsmith score - but the version usually shown on TV is the TD one.

I agree that this is a woefully underrated film - Mia Sara is easy on the eyes, too (but not half as nice as rotting meat...)

Here is what I hope for:

Blade Runner S-DVD vs. Blu-Ray screencaps. Notice the added clarity of the sets. Please understand that screencaps do not do Blu-Ray titles justice. To view a good BD in motion is something special. The film grain, the detail the color timing(in most cases the BD's look much more natural than their dvd countepart).

awesome movie.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

Legend, or Blade Runner?

Both, IMO.

STORYMARK

I'm a pretty big fan of Scott's films, and almost always like Cruise (as I could give a flip about his personal life) - but this is one of the few movies from either than leaves me cold. Both versions.
