Awesome news for Browncoats! QMx has donated a replica of the mule, as seen in Serenity

This studio scale replica costs $349.95, but anyone who attends a CSTS event is eligible to participate in a global raffle to win it! It's a raffle prize, so when you attend a local affiliate event or screening, buy some raffle tickets for a chance to win. The more tickets you buy, the more chances you have to win.

After this year’s events, we will draw for the winner.

No big deal. I was just thinking like is this something I'd need a whole garage to store or is "studio scale" something different. Maybe Chrisisall, our resident model master, might know in general what that means.

I guess we can both do some investigating on this!

In other news, in case you haven't heard, Joss Whedon will be at the CSTS Los Angeles this year! If you or anyone you know is on the left coast, check out the info here:

You can read all about the bit of shiny here.

QMx has produced the first ever, exact studio-scale replica of the Flying Mule as seen in the movie Serenity. Measuring 14.5" x 10.75" x 4.5", the Mule is a highly-detailed model, hand painted to match the movie vehicle – right down to the emblems and decals. Using the blueprints and AutoCAD files used to create the screen-used vehicle, plus extensive photographic reference, the MF-813 Flying Mule replica is the last word in accuracy.

Included with the Mule is a cast resin diorama measuring 15.5" x 10.75" x 1". This hand-painted base simulates the sandy surface of a Border moon perfectly.
