Summer Glau will be guest starring on Alphas says The Summer Glau Wiki.

lpha/2011-07-23-196

The Summer Glau Wiki hinted this weeeks ago ( http://summerglauwiki.com/forum/24-158-5453-16-1309369931) but now it's confirmed.

Alphas airs on SyFy every Monday at 10pm, after Eureka (guest star Felicia Day last Monday) and Warehouse 13. So far the show has had a good buzz and good ratings, we can expect SyFy to announce a renewal soon.

Oh happy news! Even though I haven't seen "Alphas" yet it's been getting great buzz, unlike "Warehouse 13" which should be canceled because it's stupid.

Alphas also has two of my favourite writers aboard (Ira Steven Behr and Robert Hewitt Wolfe).

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Alphas also has David Strathairn, an actor I've admired since his first feature film way back in 1979, The Return of the Secaucus Seven. He's been in quite a few other John Sayles films too, as well The Bourne Ultimatum and others.

It is great news that Summer will appear, and the only downside to that is I think she is good enough to head her own series, not just guest star. I'll have to download it, because other than the pilot episode, they are holding all the others on either SyFy Rewind and Hulu until the end of the broadcast season. I dropped full cable because of a reduced budget, plus the fact I was paying an outrageous amount for hundreds of channels I never watched.

Summer in Alphas! Well if Baby Girl is in it, then I'm there. Heard good things, but don't know much about it. I'll peek at the pilot and see. David Straithaim is one of my fav character actors as well. I like him in pretty much anything he does, plus he's in one of my fav baseball movies of all time - A League of Their Own.

Well now, SyFy definitely has their ear to the ground - Felicia Day and Summer. Good move SyFy, now bring back Firefly and make the circle complete.

That's what I thought when I saw it. I already wrote the show off based on the premise anyway. Weak powered super heroes = boring IMO.

Keep working on those X-men ripoffs hollywood. Eventually you'll come up with one that works.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

While the ads for Alphas did pique my interest, I have yet to watch. If Summer is going to be on the show though, I will catch up on Hulu and watch to support her.

Not sure SyFy is on Hulu (someone check please?)

Also we had a glimpse of Summer's guest spot on Alphas at the end of last Monday episode. They showed a promo for upcoming episodes.

Most of SyFy's shows are available on Hulu, but the time lag varies quite a bit. I would have expected to be able to watch Eureka tonight but the latest ep isn't available yet, although the last two were there the day after. Unfortunately, except for Alphas' pilot episode they won't be offering the rest until after the season is over, which will be the end of August at least. IMDb.com only has eight eps listed at this time, the last one airing on August 29. Not sure if there will be more than that, but I would have expected twelve or thirteen.

Been a while since I saw Eight Men Out, forgot he was in it. He's in quite a few favs of mine but I mostly remember LOTO and A River Wild, for some reason.

Took a peek at Alphas on Amazon (the pilot was free). It was okay. I generally don't like it when they reveal who the killer is. It seems a bit anti-climatic when they finally catch him, unless, of course, they have a fantastic reveal.
But I want to catch the episodes with Summer and Felicia just the same. Perhaps the eps will get better as they go along.

Really? Warehouse 13 stupid?

Why do you think that?

I mean, it's obviously not a series meant to be scientifically correct, neither meant to be completely serious.

So what's the "stupid" part of it?

August 22nd at 10PM ET/PT on Syfy, Tune in!

Spoilerish infos about Summer's character, named Skylar :

Quote:

Genre fans love Summer Glau. From her role as the enigmatic River in Firefly to the cold, but somehow compassionate Cameron in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. But this Monday, August 22, we get to see her in one of her most exciting roles to date.

Summer appears as a rogue Alpha with a knack for making stuff out of anything at hand. A sort of super-MacGyver. But her stuff is much cooler than Richard Dean Anderson could ever imagine. And she has a past with Doctor Rosen’s team. Now she’s on the run, and it’s up to our team of Alpha heroes to bring her in.

Fans of Summer Glau will find this role, I believe, quite enjoyable. She’s not mentally unbalanced, coldly emotionless, one-dimensionally kick-ass, or even a psychotic genius this time. She’s just a brilliant and gifted woman on a mission. This episode is a roller-coaster ride from the start, so strap in and enjoy.

Waiting to catch Summer on Alphas tonight (8-22-11). It will be the first episode that I will watch in it’s entirety. Is it because of Summer Glau? Your gorram right it is. I’ve become spoiled with excellent acting, and Summer was at the top of her game in Firefly!

Wish they would make more.

Anyway, the Scy/fi channel has me roped in with it’s Monday night lineup. Sorry if some don’t like WH13, but I love it.

So, there it is, I will always watch FF alum when possible, those folk are like family to me….I always enjoy seeing them.

@syfy: Firefly and TSCC fans, Summer Glau stars in tonight's #Alphas at 10/9c. Thought you'd want to know

From the early review released online, the episode is really entertaining and Summer does an amazing job.

Alphas has a good balance between serialised and procedural show, the filming, acting, the plots are good; that makes enough reasons to watch it tonight on SyFy (if you have the channel).

Hiya browncoats!

I really enjoyed tonight’s Sy/Fy episode of ALPHAS……with guest appearance by Summer Glau. I was likely smiling the whole time even if I may not have been aware if it. Firefly references? Don’t think I’ve seen a guest appearance on that station yet by a FF alum that didn’t give a thumbs up to the browncoat community…..and I applaud them for those.

Anyway, needless to say ALPHAS has gained a new fan, and I will be checking out the show as often as I can. And without stretching it too much, I would like to think that the little bug watching over mother and child at the end did seem as if it were a little FIREFLY.

If the show had continued, episodes featuring other students at the academy (many similar to the Alphas) would probably be common.

Alphcademy? That would be interesting!

Little Zoe was so cute. I think that’s the same little girl that is in a car commercial?

Anyway, Summer, with all them tats freaked me out a little. I do like the hair streaks though. Anyone else catch the NSA guy was named Nathan Crain? Would be kinda fun if Adam were to show up in an episode as Casey.

I think “Chuck” is finishing up next season. It had a good run. Castle is still going strong…….the light is still shining for the browncoats I hope!!!!!

Firefly but apparently also Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles references.

Name = Skylar/Skynet
Skylar, making a joke : "i come from the future"
Alphas team member in front of a vending machines : "i think she (Skylar) is on the side of the machines"

Rating news : Alphas went up a tenth to 0.7 in 18-49 adult demo and gained viewers. Summer Glau effect?
(whereas the others shows on Syfy loosed viewers)

What Would Mal do ?

ok..cool..so a bit of hairdo from anime meets Blade Runner (Pris) and is that "almost" the same cop..the black guy? from Terminator?...man these shows are looking familiar...

also..just saw a couple minutes of Honeymoon on TV last night..couldn't stay in front of the tele...but surfing Summer caught my eye..gotta say, the blonde chick (detective?) had a bit more on the hot scale... Summer has some good angles and looks, but her dish face profile tends to keep her looking like a girl..she's a hotty no doubt but get her around some other talent and, well, I think I woulda swung towards the blonde on that show.

That's right folks, there was a popular, award-winning TV show (that started out) about da Mob in North Jersey, using a ten-episode story arc, a decade before the Sopranos

re Wiseguy: the Company Town arc has not been released on DVD (I doubt it will, now that Steve Cannell is dead), but is available for download from Amazon (does Haken still get a cut if it's purchased through an Amazon link on this site?). The Music Bidniz arc (w/Glenn Frey, Debbie Harry, Tim Curry & Patti d'Arbanville) is never going to see the light o' day 'cause, back in the '80s, the standard license agreement for pre-recorded music did not envision personal copies. Much of the licensed music on the Wiseguy DVDs was replaced

Yeah, what up with that? The SyFy channel only aired the pilot and that was it (whicch acutally wasn't that good). But I just finished seeing the encore showing of her episode "Catch and Release", it was very well written, acted and done.
These guys would be foolish not to hire her, at least the way the character was written, which put her talents to good use.

But we're talking about SyFy here. Universal get your act together.
