Just wanted to say HI to everyone here. I'm fairly new to Firefly. I saw the show for the first time a little over a year ago when I borrowed my friends box set. I immediately went GA-GA over the series, and I've watched it several times since. I havn't explored the extended universe yet...but it's on my queue.

I joined this forum...not to promote, but just because I thought you guys might think this was cool.

I'm an electrician by trade, but the recent crunch hit me *really* hard, and I was out of work for almost 3 years. I finally decided I was sick and tired of being a part of the system, and wanted to go out and find *MY OWN* work. So I went out and got the proper licences so that I could open my own electrical shop.

I threw around several names. But the more I thought about a guy who is going into business for himself in order to maintain some form of autonomy from "the system"...the more I was inspired by Mal, and Firefly. The planets aligned...and it just fit. Firefly Electric was born. I even got the licence plate SRNITY1 for my company vehicle. (now, if I only had a Kaylee to work on it. LOL)

Anyway, if you guys wanna see some pics, I'll post them. But I just wanted to say HI to everyone, and tell my story about how Firefly has actually influenced me to push forward and go farther in my life.

Sure is cool! Yeah, the name, but going out on a limb these days and doing what you gotta do- even cooler! I wish you the best of luck, and suggest brown coats for cool weather uniforms :wink: I'm not so sure jumpsuits with teddy bear patches would go over well...

Anyways, WELCOME, and feel free ta post around here whenever... If you're the fightin' sort there's Real World Events Discussions for that and if you're the nice chat sort we've got one of those, too.
