Duke333:

Thanx! Not only for the interview (which was informative) but for the turn-on to UGO. Great site for heterotechnosexuals. (zoid wants a quarter every time someone uses that term in the future)

Respectfully,

zoid

heterotechnosexuals defined: typically, male computer geeks who enjoy feminine pulchritude (defined: physical comeliness). May also refer to female computer geeks who enjoy masculine enticements, to the extent that they are presumed to exist.

UGO's got it all for male heterotechnosexuals. Here's their topmost menu: games, film & tv, music, girls (mmmm, Laetitia Casta!), comics (great caps like http://tinyurl.com/3yn8w ), tech (toys), sports, and DVD. Again, great free site, and I'd never heard of it.

Respectfully,

zoid

Woohoo, the news about the movie's DP/cinematographer sounds promising. :) Is summer 2005 here yet?

Indeed. Some time back (March or April?) I had started a thread asking fans what they would like to see 'their' $50 million spent on in the movie. My opinion was that a true Western feel, like the one in the top-notch "The Unforgiven" would be great for our story. The cinematographer retained for Firefly: Serenity is the one who shot "Unforgiven". Now, if we could just get the set designer and costumer as well...

Others on the board at the time sort of, well, shat on my idea, saying they didn't want anything to change from the TV series. I then counterargued (as I reiterate in the present case) that it would be the same look and feel, only more so. Trust Joss to do it right, and faithful to our memories of the series; I certainly do. Prepare to be amazed next summer (Christmas time for initial trailers?).

(because zoid has begun dancing around the room, his GSD, 'Jayne', gives him a strange look and then starts running circuits of the first floor)

Respectfully,

zoid

And you call yourself a heterotechnosexual? Umm, then again, maybe I'm making the mistake of incorrectly guessing your gender? Either way, Ms. Casta is a goddess: non-skinny, SportsIllustrated Swimsuit and Victoria's Secret model; born in 1978, Normandy, France. A web search on her name returns roughly 78,000 hits. Here's one ( http://tinyurl.com/2mdb3 ) with very good, demure photos of her, no pop-ups or banners that I can detect (although I've always got my pop-up blocker and spy-bot s&d turned on).

If you are, indeed, a male heterotechnosexual, Laetitia is a feast for the eyes (although I still prefer Monica Belucci; she's closer to my age)

Respectfully,

zoid

OBJECTIVEASSESSMENT

Just out of curiosity does any one know when Joss' Astonishing X-Men is coming out in the UK?

Re-watching "Unforgiven" is pretty much a primer on the style of the underused art that is the modern western. I personally think the choice of DP for Serenity is pretty close to perfect as far as using someone who'll give the film the western "feel." As for those who might be upset because something changed from the series: the movie is bound to look different. There's no way we can have an exact replica of what we watched on television up on a movie screen. It would look completely out of place. But I wouldn't expect the look and feel to change too much; though we may have a new DP (and a darn amazing one at that), Mr. Whedon is still the director, and he still calls the shots ultimately. It's his vision that we'll eventually see.

You got a wife? All I got is that dumbass stick sounds like it's raining.
