I was watching Battle star Galactica for the umtenth time on DVD and what I noticed today was the SCIFI network paid a tribute to Josh and the Firefly team in the Galactic premier. You have to watch closely but Serenity can be seen for a brief moment. I took a snapshot on my big screen TV because I could not believe my eyes.

The ship shows itself in a brief moment early on in the 3 hour premier. After Tigh and Starbuck fight the scene with Adama and Tigh discussing if Tigh would drop the charges, at the end of that scene they cut to Caprica as they zoom in the over the water the scene cuts to looking out through a ceiling of windows with ships flying by over head and as the camera begins to zoom down you catch a brief glimpse of Serenity flying by.

I paused the scene and its the Serenity. Now We know that the two worlds do not exist in any same timelines but it is clear that this was a shout out to Joss and the crew. Kudo's to the SciFi network for the tribute.

Always loved that.

I doubt SciFi had anything to do with it, the FX company that did BSG is the one that did Firefly. They probably put it in on their own.

Here's the original thread about it.
