ANONYMOUSE

I wandered into Waterstones of an afternoon, with no plans to buy a gorram thing. And what do I find? The shiniest book they had in the shop: Leaves On The Wind, the official continuation of Serenity!

What d'you mean, "Did I buy it?" :)

It's an excellent story, dealing with theaftermath of the broadwave re Miranda; as I suggest in my as-yet-unfinished fic Unlikely Bedfellows (which, I swear, I will get back to at some gorram point!), a lot of folks in the 'verse don't believe the allegations.

The Alliance, of course, knows they're true, so they assign a senior officer and a certain bounty hunter (I don't need to name him, do I?) to find Mal et al. There are a couple of bits I'm very fond of, namely: Kaylee gettin' serious payback for what our erstwhile bounty hunter did to her (remember that picture of Kaylee with the biggest gorram monkey wrench anyone's ever seen? Well, in this book...!); and a scene where Mal's calling down to the engine room for Kaylee to fire 'er up...and she doesn't respond immediately 'cause she's...busy.

And naked.

And not alone. 'Nuff said. :)

There's also a frame of a spacecraft dumping ground, with strangely familiar craft in there...namely what appears to be half a TIE fighter, a Constitution-class starship and a Space:1999 Eagle. Cross-pollination of canons happenin' again, folks. Then again, the 'verse is a place where the laws of physics as we understand 'em seem to be takin' a pretty long coffee break... :)
