Just a little bit of guerilla marketting to report. While browsing through the DVD section at the local mega-book-music-video store I see a jam packed shelf in the F section with three Firefly DVD sets on it. I quickly replaced several "Friends" DVDs into the Z section and turned one of Firefly DVDs so the face was showing. Mission accomplished.

Still flying.

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Nice work Hardware. Any guerilla marketing to promote the DVD set is worth the effort.

Now if we could just get more browncoats to push the DVD set so we pass the number sold by "Family Guy" we could make all of the networks sit up and take notice.

Good work Hardware...

I do that everytime I'm in my local Best Buy. Usually works pretty good. A day or so later all the sets are sold.

Ask your local library to buy it. I work for the library and asked them to buy Firefly before I'd ever even seen it (or Buffy or Angel!). We loved it so much I bought my own too (and then the other Whedon shows---working backwards I guess).
Most libraries will take acquisition suggestions from patrons. And most are right now building up their DVD collections. And potential fans who wouldn't buy a DVD on spec will certainly check it out of the library for free. Voila! New converts.
(The more information you include in your purchase request, including publishing info and reviews, the less work for the library, the more they're likely to buy. Circulation counts: libraries want things people will check out. So tell them about the upcoming movie, too.)
I did this for Blake's 7 and Dr. Who and really did boost the fan base in my city. (And THAT was a lot more work, one VHS tape at a time.)

Yes do support the local libraries with copies! I've just checked my local library and they have 54 people waiting for one of four copies of Serenity!

Hmm, I note however that they don't have a single version of Firefly, I'll have to do something about that!

Houston Browncoats got together and collected money and dvds for one of our local counties libraries. I'm pleased to report Fort Bend County Libraries are going from 0 copies of firefly up to 5 :)
