I'm already paying over $200 for cable, phone and wi-fi. They're not getting another dime out of me, MacFarlane can shove that show up his ass, won't miss it.

As I posted previously, Season 2 of The Orville was not very good. I would probably watch it for free on Fox, but I would never pay a cent for it on Hulu.

Also Star Trek : Picard looks very promising, but I'm not going to subscribe to that either.

It sounds like production is probably too expensive for Fox. I saw that one coming.
I quit Netflix, and am quitting Amazon until Expanse and Jack Ryan come out. Then hubby wants to sign up to Disney just long enough to watch Mandalorian. I might do a month of Hulu to get a couple things next year, but all this jumping around is beyond obnoxious.

There really isn't anything about this century that doesn't SUCK.

Yeah... this is unfortunate.

This exclusivity behavior is starting to become the norm across all media platforms.

For a while there, things were getting to a point where the industry seemed to finally "get it" and were offering content in a way that was not only affordable, but looked great and was actually easier than pirating the stuff.

But neither is the case anymore. It's not just about having to pay more to get access to shows that are on different platforms, but it's trying to keep in your head which platforms have which shows you want to watch.

But an even larger problem behind the scenes that most customers might not even notice is that innovation is dying. Instead of different companies spending money on R&D to develop new and exciting technology and trying to ensure that their platform is the "best" out there, they're lazily sitting on their licenses and assuming that people who want to watch are just going to pay them for it.

Do you remember when a single season of the X-Files or the Sopranos was being sold on DVD for $125?

Pirates took care of that problem for everyone back then, and I have no doubt that they will now.

Not only do these companies have to compete with each other, but they'll always have to compete with free. Piracy never stops innovating.

My only worry about this whole thing is that when some of these major corporations that are saturating the market with streaming services start going belly up, Disney will end up buying them and becoming even larger.

I mean, on one hand, that would be great for the customer. One single company that owns the rights to everything, so there is only one streaming service to pay for that has it all.

That'll be $250 per month, please.

"Oh... You want to watch [your favorite show here]? Sorry. That's not currently available because [some arbitrary BS logistical reason with the end result being they want to shuffle around their content so you can't just watch it all and then quit]."

"Maybe you'd care to try your luck with a game of chance? For just $5, you can spin the Wheel of Access. Prizes include but are not limited to one free month to your subscription as well as exclusive access to shows that are not currently in our rotation. $1 of every spin will be donated to Doctors Without Borders, so really, you're a bad person if you don't spin the wheel."

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Can't blame FOX for this, (that's new) Hulu is owned by Disney and Comcast. Disney now owns 20th Television which distributes The Orville BUT, MacFarland owns Fuzzydoor Productions which is the production Co. to The Orville...so fuck em both

What I'm saying is, if ANY of the parties involved really wanted to keep it on Fox, it would still be there. They could have negotiated that. The show isn't going to last long on HULU. I don't even know anyone who has Hulu.

I read today that Paliki (blond chic) and Grimes (red head dude) got married two months ago and are now filing for divorce. This is his third, her first. Din't think for a second that it would work out. Office shit goes wrong SOOO FAST.

Hmmm, 2 months playing doctor with Paliki might be worth …… ANYTHING!

She has the longest hands I've ever seen on a woman. First time I saw them I wondered if she has Marfans, they have really long fingers.

Once you see them you can't not notice, I warn you.

What he sees in here, totally understandable.

But what'd she see ? Dude's like 5" shorter than her. ( OK, maybe just 2, but it looks worse when she's in heels )

Must have been a sympathy bone, turn into a sympathy relationship.

There's a lot to say for funny...

You also got to assume he's operating on some above average level of confidence too. And I'm sure making a decent buck doesn't hurt, although nobody could claim she was a gold digger since she probably got paid more than he did.

She's also 36, going on 40. 20 year old hotties get to be a lot choosier than 36 year old hotties. I think it's more about her than it is about him. Nobody marries a 36 year old trophy wife, unless they themselves have an AARP card.

You're a bit wrong, but only just because there are no real solid rules on this stuff. A 50 yr old would prefer 36 to say 23, most of the time. Unless you're really rolling in the $, then all bets are off.

But your point isn't just that older men dig younger women, because they do. It's also that younger women absolutely do chase and nab older guys.

It goes both ways, because... hell, humans. Duh

Did anyone here think that maybe they're both nuts? Before "The Orville" they were unknown actors, we know nothing about these two, both of them may be on medication...they are actors ya know.

lol

They might be. :)

I knew of Adrianne before though. She was on Agents of Shield for a season or two before I stopped watching it.

I thought I'd seen Grimes before too. Looks like he's played a voice on American Dad for about 15 years. He was in a couple episodes of Justified too, so that must be why he looked familiar to me.

If they are nuts, either or both of them, it just speaks to their acting cred.

Everybody on the Orville makes it seem like a great place to work.

With the Orville switching networks, will they be able to get a bigger ship, so they don't need to continue to work in such cramped and confined spaces?

Isn't it a safe bet that most actors , entertainers , are varying degrees of crazy ?

I mean, sure, ' some ' may have semi normal wired brains, but those tend to be the exception. They certainly are in a crazy business, which likely contributes to their mindset. Dunno if its cause or effect, but they do go hand in hand.
