I emailed and got an email back from postmaster@icesystems.onmicrosoft.com with Undeliverable followed by my subject.

The email had a Lowes logo in front of that email address. It also had a Lowes website in it.

I too failed in my attempt to contact him. The email address still seems valid, it just gets blocked or something. Unless it's just me, I believe we've lost the ability to email each other here years ago. There are so few posters left I can understand if he just wants to let the site slip away.

Those still here either promote Putin and Russia posting lie after lie, or those who irrationally hate every institution in America. There's a winning combination. There are two or three who are keepers of the gate, but that doesn't offer much of a reason for keeping the site going. I don't see Haken getting any enjoyment out of the site. I haven't for a long time now.

I'm afraid what will be will be.

I should have corrected: I got File Not Found.

I did email Haken about this then.
I do email Haken, like when the site is not available or corrupted. He doesn't always respond as email reply, but the site gets back up, often within minutes - after being down for hours or days.

Perhaps he has done this, to prevent trolls like Nilbog and Reaver from logging in under new registrations.

If this continues, perhaps we can post an alternative option for new visitors.

Does anybody know the login for Sockpuppet? I know it was posted publicly before, but I never paid much attention to that.
Perhaps we could post that, allowing new visitors a method of posting.

If that is the case, perhaps it's time to say goodbyes to anybody you want to say goodbye to. This site goes down rather frequently and if nobody can even send a message to The Man anymore, this might be the last hurrah. :(

I’m not 100% sure, but I believe when a site goes down all the years of posting goes as well. Gone, cannot be accessed. Losing much of realworld is not so bad I guess, but even realworld has good in it.

That said, all the good works and discussions that are documented here since 2002 are lost as well. Access is gone.

Wow, that is a shame. That’s not just at fireflyfans. Think of all the sites we’ve lost over the years. All those good works are gone. I’d kill to have the good about these sites return. The good works, the good discussions. Not to be I think. Again, wow, what a shame.

This site is a part of Hakens' legacy. He created it. I think this because this site has lasted so long. There is so much here, and the legacy of Firefly is a part of history now too. Most of the actors will be here for a long time to come and they never stop relating to the show. It wouldn't surprise me to see Nathon do a shout out a decade from now. It would be a shame if there were no site to post about it.

I've never tried archiving an entire website before, but it is something that can be done.

There are a lot of deep dive youtube videos that are very interesting, going through vast archives of defunct websites from Web 1.0, which FFF.NET is very much a part of.

If I can find some time, maybe I can figure it out and post a link just in case.
