Hi all. I'm a new Firefly fan (just finished the DVD set a few weeks ago) and wanted to know if an Austin area ppl are interested in getting together for an informal meet. Unfortunately, I discovered the series too late to participate in the Shindig last May, so I'm trying to catch up!

If people are interested, let me know and we can maybe plan something soon.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'm in Waco, and I would be interested. However, with my work schedule and shaky financial condition conspiring against me I can't guarantee I could make it, depends on when and where. I have signed up at meetup.com each month but so far nothing has come of it in my area yet, which for some reason is listed as Temple, even though Waco is a larger city.

Hi, this is DigsJayne, from the OB! PrincessFillion sent me over here to say hey-n-howdy. I work in Austin, and live in Leander. There's a couple other folks here, too, on this board. I've been corresponding with one man on e-mail, who has recently moved back to the area.

I'm in a band, and am preparing for a gig in Lago Vista next weekend (not this coming one, but the next...time is so slippery!). You can reach me via e-mail at the following: cherie@mail.utexas.edu, riostar1015@aol.com, or riostar1015@yahoo.com.

Excellent, all. I have some friends who are FF fans as well and they'd like to join too.

I'm in NW Austin (but go to school at TX State in San Marcos..we bought our house before I decided to go back to school), so I can get pretty much anywhere with relative ease. School will start back for me in a week or so, but as I'm in grad school, I only have class 2 days a week. I'm avaiable pretty much anytime.

You can contact me at bowlwoman@yahoo.com if you want to arrange something off list.

Shiny! I'll have a look at our gig calendar and see what I've got open. Mid-September looks pretty clear...we've got someone going on vacation mid-month.

If you want to come out to Lago Vista (this goes for all the Austin-area folks) and have some fun, come to Lago Down Under/Lago Music Hall on August 28th. The Vista Chix are playing a show from 8:00-9:30 p.m. If interested, e-mail me for directions. No cover charge for this show!

Sept 17-19 is out for me, 'cause we got a 3 day pass to ACL.

I'm up for Sept 10 or 11. Any other thoughts? Any ideas on what to do?

BTW, I just checked out your band's website. Very shiny!

I'll check with the hubby about Aug 28, but it looks like fun!

If I still lived in San Antonio I would be there...but I'm in Dallas now. Maybe Dallas has some browncoats too...

Awesome, thanks for going by there! We expect a good crowd for this show. I hope we see you there! Come grab me. It is very hard for me to see faces in the audience unless they come close to the stage, since it gets dark pretty quick.

I'll see when our gigs coming up are, and let you know. We have practice on Wednesday, and will be planning our calendar then.

I'm getting pretty haired over here at my desk, but I will be sending a flyer around for the 8/28 show, with directions, and will send you one. :-)

Edited to say: May do to post it in this thread, too! We can have a beer and watch the 2nd band...George Guzman; Stevie Ray-ish stuff.

TARAWHEELER

Hi! I'm Tara Wheeler and my husband and I own the Dragon's Lair comic book chain.

We'd love to host a shindig of Browncoats!

Want to come out to the Ranchito (South of Austin) or should we find a spot actually in Austin?

Come on y'all! We've got to get organized before the BDM comes out!

Tara

I'm game. I'm more than happy to help organize. I live in NW Austin, but go to school in San Marcos, so I can pretty much meet anywhere anytime (except Monday's). Email me offlist (bowlwoman@yahoo.com) and we can chat about it.
