MAMASAMA

i realize when i talk to people that i always want to suggest they watch the firefly series. (i wouldn't have discovered but that my ex told me about it.) instead of sounding like an obsessive crazy trying to promote a television series, i thought of another way to promote the series that involves some sacrifice...

does anyone know of freecycle? it is a great way to share and receive stuff that people are done with. if you go to yahoogroups.com and look up freecycle you might find one in your area. the idea is that when you are done with something, you give it away, no strings attached. if you want something, you can ask for it and maybe someone has it.

what if people gave away the firefly series with the stipulation that once the next person was done watching it, they post it back to the list to keep going (i guess that would be considered a "string attached", huh? still, it might work...)?

i have to admit, it would be hard for me to part with it once i had them, but it would be worth it to get the show back on television again!

Interesting idea except its not going to get the show back on TV ----- Part of the deal between Universal and Fox is that the show will not return to TV in any format for 5 years.

Personally, I think simply giving the dvds as gifts works better--plus the convert remains eternally greatful afterward. Someone would have to have heard something about Firefly to even be interested in taking it from freecycle in the first place....its much easier for them to simply rent it from netflix.
