May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

199 days and counting. Before you know it we will be below 100, then counting the hours.

Guess we all need to redouble our efforts in recruiting and guerilla marketing. We really need to push to convert so we can sell tickets for the BDM and make it a success.

Now, I'm not one to spend the money to see a movie at the theater unless it's really worth it. (you can guess how many times I've been to the theater in the past 3 years) However, this falls under the category of "Must see with large group of friends/fans in big theater at least once to enjoy in all it's glory".......

I've made a semi-convert recently. He has been lurking here a bit and I HOPE he signs up. He claims he will, anyway. He will choose the name Dr.Evil so everybody needs to greet him warmly!!

WOOO freakin' HOOOO!! (chants) BDM! BDM! BDM! (and on and on...)

Welcome to the site Nynaeve. Glad to have you w/ us.

You are only going to see the movie once? Not me! I for one plan on going to see it at least 5-10 times in the first two weeks it is out. The first two weeks are very crucial to the future of any other Firefly movies. Both Jewel & Adam mentioned several times at Dragon Con that the movie must do well in the opening weekend and not show a significant drop in ticket sales for the first two weeks. If things go well, Universal will greenlight the next movie.

BrownCoat1 and fellow fans:

I intend to see the movie at least once in the first week (because, who could wait?), and at least three times during the second week, in keeping with Joss' "the first week is on the studio, the second week is on me" dictum.

However, I have a prediction for those who seem to be saying we will have to do a lot of recruiting: Many Browncoats will not be able to get a seat at every showing. It's going to be sold out.

I think that when the critics get a(nother) gander at the Firefly vehicle (soon to be 'franchise') -- this time on the silver screen -- they're going to recommend it in a big way, just like they did when it was on TV. As a consequence, "Serenity" is going to be a box office smash. All our beloved heroes are going to be on the talk show circuit, showing clips and reaping adulation from live audiences (and you know the 'coats will be in Leno's, Letterman's and Philbin's auditoria, raising HELL).

LENO: I'd like to thank tonight's guests Joss Whedon (SHOUTING OVER DEAFENING ROAR), Nathan Fillion (CROWD NOW SINGING 'Ballad of Serenity' AND 'Hero of Canton' IN TOTAL CACAPHONY), Jewel Staite (SHOUTS OF 'Kaylee!' INTERSPERSED THROUGH THE DIN)... et cetera for the better part of a minute, even though Jay is talking as fast as he can and going hoarse in the process...

LENO (CONTINUING TO SHOUT THROUGH THE MAELSTROM OF CHEERS): Don't forget to tune in tomorrow when my special guests will be George Lucas and Hayden Christiansen, the creator and star of this Summer's upcoming blockbuster, "Star Wars III: The Sudden But Inevitable Betrayal"! (SUDDEN SILENCE, CRICKETS ARE HEARD CHIRPING, MICROPHONE FEEDS BACK SLIGHTLY)

SINGLE AUDIENCE MEMBER: Boooooo!!!

REST OF AUDIENCE: Booooo!!! (STARTS CHANTING, 'Joss! Joss! Joss!', etc.)

Okay, that was fun. But not entirely a fantasy (although it was set in LA, where they don't even get excited over NBA championships). I think the movie will be a critical success and have the right mix of characters, story and action to put a multitude of 'virgin' fannies (with apologies to our British siblings) in the comfy seats of their local cineplexes.

In summation, I don't think we're gonna need to kidnap people to get them to see Serenity. They'll come of their own accord and trample us, if we don't get out of the way fast enough. Better start getting in shape now for those hour-long lines at the ticket window and dashes to the center seat, center aisle. I'll meet you there, already seated (Mafia connections). Just remember the seat to my right is taken even though it's empty; I paid for it and am saving it for LuxLuthor...

Respectfully,

zoid

P.S.
Joss! Joss! Joss! (just getting warmed up) Ahem... Joss! Joss!...
