So what's everyone gonna be for Halloween? I'd love to be able to dress up as one of our beloved BDH's, but I just don't have the stuff.

So I'm going to be a Vampire for the first time in my 22 years. Only not just any Vampire, but a Ventrue (a clan from Whitewolf's Vampire: the Masquerade. They were generally seen as the rulers and politicians). Black pinstripe suit with a black shirt (french cuffs), black tie, suspenders, shoes. Black cane(sword), grey overcoat, dark shades, slicked back hair. I'll look a lot richer than I really am. Can't wait.

So what about you guys?

KAYLEEFRYE

Well, I'm gonna be Rydia from Final Fantasy 4, complete with green hair, green corset, and green everydamnthing. My sister is going as Kaylee. I made her the jumpsuit with the teddy bear, the two hearts, and the blue flower. Yay Halloween. (I'm gonna be Kaylee next year).

I'll just probably wear my Blue Sun T-shirt all day (well, except in the morning at work, since it could get ruined), and if I go out, my browncoat over it.

I still have my Drusilla costume (complete with bloody, blindfolded doll) waiting from when I abandoned the idea last year. I decided to cut my hair about 2 weeks before Halloween, and a year later I am still waiting for it to be long enough again. I've suffered through a wig before and refuse to repeat the experience...

SO...

I'm going as Chun Li (from the Streetfighter video game) in a costume that I handmade. Only drawback? It shows quite a bit of leg and can get a little drafty during the high kicks.

KayleeFrye, Slayer730, you two are goddesses.

Video game playing chicks that also dress up as video game chicks are HOTNESS. But then, I am the Kwisatz Haderach of Geeks, so it is not too surprising that girls who love video games enough to dress up as one of the characters appeal to me. Maybe next year I'll pull a Locke or Cecil.

I really want to go as Illyria but can't figure out a way to get her outfit without spending a fortune. Any ideas?

Otherwise, I'll probably be a jedi again. The past two years I went as Buffy.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I'll be going in my Mal costume to a Halloween party. This will give me plenty of chances to hand out 11th Hour's fliers when people ask me who I am supposed to be. I will have my pockets stuffed full of fliers. What better way to try to mass convert people. I will also conveniently have a souple of DVD sets in my car in case I get a chance to show some of the episodes to someone.

BC1, I like the way you think! DVDs *conveniently* stashed in the car....why do I think you ALWAYS have a DVD set in the car...

I'm probably not doing anything special for Halloween this year, but I do love wearing my shiny browncoat...(it also makes a great blanket, I discovered on the way home from DragonCon.)

I don't have to work tomorrow or I would dress up for work. Doing Firefly Friday with the gang tomorrow night, and they've already seen EVERYTHING I've got in the way of costumes, so what's the point...I'll wear my "Browncoat" Tshirt and call it even!

Ah, Dark WIllow. I love it! I really want to make a Vamp Willow costume. I'm not terribly skilled with a sewing machine, though, so it'll have to wait until next year.

leotard, tights, fabric paint...maybe sew on some fabric to create more texture...
then blue face make up & blue hair spray...

but I wonder how many people would get it?

I always hand out the Halloween candy in my tired old witch costume...
but the monsters, snakes & spiders webs surrounding the front door is what makes it all work!
(I just love Halloween)

I considered going as Illyria as well, but the cold weather factor and the fact that no one would recognize me led me to decide to go as Sally, the rag doll girl from "The Nightmare Before Christmas," one of my all-time favourite movies.

I think I speak for us all when I say I'd love to see everyone's finished costumes!

Yay HOTNESS! Thanks TheGreyJedi...you made my day. Yeah - I'm proud to be a gamer chick. I was working on a Lulu costume from FFX, but it's proving to be more complicated than I first thought, so it may have to wait another couple of Halloweens. Do I get points for wearing my handmade Cheetara costume a couple years ago too? ha ha ha

If I can find some black jeans and a good enough shirt, I shall be doing this as well. I can easily do all of it with some creative shopping, eyeliner, and hair spray paint. Though, I don't know what to do about my eyes. They're dark brown, and I COULD easily leave them normal, but what's the fun in that? ^_^ I don't know where I could go to buy special effect contacts without ordering them online or something first.

Here that, Slayer, we're goddessses. :) That's cool.

Seriously though, I love video games, and if I didn't have so much homework, I would be playing them much more often. Rydia has been a costume that I've wanted to do for a long time, but didn't have the means. Now that I have a sewing machine and a green corset, yay, I am a Summoner of Mist.

Let's just say SHK that I always have a copy of the DVD set near at hand wherever I might be at the time.

I am at work now, all dressed up in my Mal costume. I have gotten quite a few compliments on the costume. Of course this leads me to start handing out my shiny 11th Hour fliers to those that ask me about the costume.

oh yeah, my costume today is pseudo Spike.

Boots, tight black jeans, black T-Shirt, red button up shirt, black nail polish, fangs, slicked back hair, and a black jacket. oh yeah, and blood dripping from my mouth.

Didn't have money for a trench coat, and bleached hair makes me look awful. So we'll see if anyone gets it.

OH, I forgot to mention that Manthastar and a batch of her new-convert pals plan to trick-or-treat together this year. And yes, they WILL be roaming the streets
of Toms River as members of the Serenity crew.

Maybe I should take a tip from BC1 and print out flyers for them to distribute?

(Yes, I KNOW Samantha is sixteen, but there seems to be no upper age limit for trick-or-

I'm gonna try to pull off something a little firefly-esque. Managed to rummage up a bunch of my brother's old Civil War reenacting outfits and I'll definitely look a tad 19th century. No good browncoat to go with blue pants and blue vest. But it'll work for a night.
