Hey guys,

Theres a post I started a while back on a website (Sci Fi Lists) which had Firefly ranked at No.92.

The Firefly community rallied.

I recently recieved an e-mail from the guy who runs this site:

Dear Fireflyers

Thank you for voting in our poll of the Top 100 sci-fi TV shows of all-time. I take it you all know each other (in a virtual sense). Because I try to create statistically meaningful and accurate lists, I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do when I got 17 emails sent to me in one day in what was obviously a very well-organised campaign (although I thought the guy with the "petersykes" address was a bit pretentious). I decided to create a list from the emails you sent and work it into the results with a higher than usual weighting in recognition of your rabid devotion to Firefly. The series is premiering on one of my local stations this week and I can't wait to see it. Out of interest I have included a Top 50 generated from your votes in this email, although it doesn't include fantasy/supernatural shows that rated highly like Buffy and Angel. I hope you enjoy it.

Total Rank Series
587 1 Firefly
299 2 Farscape
290 3 Star Trek - The Next Generation

I should be able to update the TV list sometime this evening (North Queensland time) and you can expect Firefly to significantly improve its position. As a matter of interest, it has been polling well in most lists received so far.

All the best

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Very gracious of him to update his list and include the votes emailed to him and raise the ranking of our beloved show.

I wonder if he is catching the show when it airs in his area as he mentioned in his email. It would be interesting to see what he has to say once he sees it.

Hi Calhoun,

I just went over to the website to vote and I noticed the new ranking for Firefly is 65. Did you post that link on the movie board as well as the Fox board? We need to have more people get over there and vote for the best Sci/Fi show ever!

Thanks for the info and update!

Only problem is that channel 7 is airing the show at 1am (primetime...pfft) and they are starting with Train Job.. WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING! Yoo would think they would have learned from Fox's mistakes..
