Greeting&Felecitations:

I wonder when/If there will be a LOTR style extended play or uncut/Director's cut of the Serenity movie? Am willing to pay in advance for it!
Also am wondering that if the movie does well
enough, will someone pick it up for a new/continued series? Perhaps everyone should see the movie, then go back and take a friend and see it again. Or offer tickets in raffles for a
charity or fund raiser. After all, the more the movie is rated as a box office draw, the better the chances are for a renewed series.

Personally, I would pay to see every scrap of film the cameras took! I don't care how raw or "bad" it was, I wanna see it. I feel it's very unfair to have unviewed footage on the cutting room floor. I mean, why throw it in the trash when us fans would pay good money to see it??? You know?

Hell, yeah!

I'd pay money just to see footage of the cast standing around waiting for a grip to readjust a light...

Well, personally, I would be hoping that Joss is able to release his "director's cut" the first time around, when Serenity is released in April.

Could you please just make it stranger? Stranger. Odder. Could be weirder. More bizarre. How about uncanny?

That is key, even paramount (sorry, Universal! LOL) to seeing this movie through to what the critics will call a "success". See it with as many people as you can, as often as you can, the first weekend AAAAAAND again the SECOND weekend. Several movies shoot to the top opening weekend, only to fade away fast, but the movies that top the box offices 2 or more weekends in a row, absolutely get attention!

Find Serenity, again! ...and again, and again...

It sounds like from interviews with Joss that the studio didn't interfere with the movie, so the version that we see in the theater is probably the director's cut.

Hopefully, they will put deleted scenes and behind the secenes footage on the DVD. I'm hoping for a lot of extras on the DVD.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome to the site Brion!

We are all way ahead of you on the suggestion of going to see the movie more than once. As a matter of fact most of us planning on seeing it as many times as is possible, taking friends, family, etc. I will also be buying a ticket in memory of Lux everytime I go to see the BDM.

As far as a renewed series......who can say. At this point there is a contract w/ Fox which prohibits the show from returning to TV for yet uncertain number of years (we have heard from 5-10). If the movie is a success I think we will definitely see one or two more movies.

I'm already coordinating with friends to see it opening day, then we're all getting together that Saturday, watching as many episodes as time permits, then going to see the late show that night.

Of course, I'll probably go again the next weekend, as we really need to boost those second weekend sales.

Uh, oh, there's a thread here.. Wait... Uh, okay, I have to agree that the first cut will really be the Director's cut. And Joss has shown an understanding of the power of DVDs, so I'd guess that he's got a lot of fun stuff in store for us...

Too long to wait... *sigh*

SENUFF

Hi,

I'm new here. Bought Firefly about four weeks ago, and haven't stopped watching it since. Got colleagues interested. Here in Australia, they are showing it at 1AM last Tuesday, also out of order (Train Job first).

A question: Does anyone know how many fans there are for Firefly/Serenity worldwide? That'll be interesting to find out.

I live in Los Angeles and am planning on being outside for the premier. I wonder how I could get inside to watch the movie. Does anyone know because that would be !
