Well fellow browncoats i've heard that the serenity trailer will be released in the movie electra, because of this fact i have decided not to watch electra, at all, i am not going to watch electra because i do not want to see the firefly trailer. We have to wait till september to see the movie, we must have patience, seeing a prieveiew will give you a glimpse of the movie, which i am not saying i dont wanna see but seeing a glimpse of the movie will make the expirience of the movie so much more exciting, becasue if u see the trailer ur gonna be waiting for one part of the movie the whole time wondering if its coming up soon, and that means you cannot give serenity the attention she deserves. I propose to all you browncoats DO NOT watch the trailer for serenity hold out a couple more months and just wait for the movie it wil make it so much better than it would be if u had watched the trailer. . Who's with me!?

I can't believe someone actually took the time to post something so pointless. Then again, I took the time to respond to it.

Besides, it didn't air in front of Elektra. It's premiering in front of The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Elektra premiered in January.

Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy premieres in May.

May 6th.

The Serenity trailer will be attached as far as we know.

Move on. Nothing to see here.

And in the future may I suggest spell check?

Somebody got out of the wrong side of bed this morning.

That was my plan too to run out of the cinema if a Serenity trailer came on.

Trailers give away so much these days that they can ruin the whole film. I trust Joss to not spoil us but I don't know how much control he'll have over the trailer.

Trust me you'll want to see this film unspoiled.

Shanyu, we have been discussing since the fact that the trailer would not air w/ Elektra since the announcement was made that the BDM was pushed back to September. It's safe for you to see Elektra.

Just avoid Hitchhikers and your fine.

Oh, and ignore the grumpy nitpickers amongst us.

Chreee-ist. Why would anyone want to avoid Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?

One can go out for a block of popcorn and a column of Coke if one is really that squeamish about trailers.

I'd like to see the preview for the sheer fact of clapping and making the other people look at the crazy person cheering over a preview.

Keep shiny!

I'm planning on a rousing chorus of "Can't Take the Sky From Me" (probably not the official title, but dangme if I'm going to look it up at the moment). We'll be going as a family group, four males and me, so should be an interesting harmony.

Although it will probably actually be a cacophony, at least folks will know someone is excited for Serenity. Hopefully, people will then get curious as to why they, too, aren't excited for this movie that may or may not be fairly obscure to them. And curiosity is a good thing, because then they can look for it, simply because no one wants to be left out of anything cool.

And I am too cool for school.

This is true.

I'm not convinced of this, however :).

I mean, from the original perspective of not wanting Serenity spoiled... sure, Elektra is safe. But anyone not wanting to loose even more faith in Hollywood might want to steer clear.

Well you're not going to avoid seeing the trailer by skipping the movie that it premieres with, but if you don't go to any movies or watch TV until the end of September you should be safe. I personally hope to see a lot of the trailer because that will mean that they are doing a good job marketing the film which in turn means that a lot of people will go see it (in theory).

A more interesting discussion topic is how spoilery will the trailer be. I'm guessing that directors don't have control over the content of a film's trailer, the marketing types do. What they have been doing for a while now drives me crazy: showing most of the damn film and all the good lines in the trailers. I understand why they do it, but please, give the audience some credit and entice us without giving the whole movie away. Sadly I'm sure the Serenity trailer will be no different, but I don't think it will ruin the entire experience of seeing the film because I'm wondering if a scene from the trailer is coming up soon. Sheesh.

Chris Buchanan has intimated that he is in charge of marketing. I seriously doubt that he would mess with Joss' vision and I do not expect spoilers.

America loves a winner!

If I am at the movies and there happens to be a trailer on the big screen in front of me, I'll watch. What I WON'T do is go see some crappy movie ( who said Elektra? ) simply to see a glimpse of Serenity. Capiche ?

Maybe they saw the new trailer?

Truly not looking promising at all. I'll probably stick to the radio series & the books.

Well, how's this for a deal: I've seen the movie and I will try to catch the teaser trailer as soon as it comes out. When it does I will give you an indication of how spoilerish it is and then you can decide for yourself.

Oh, that's a shame.

Looks incredible to me, I'm a big fan of several of the major actors. Like, oh, Tim (Martin Freeman) from The Office, Guy Fleegman (Sam Rockwell) from Galaxy Quest, not to mention voice overs done by Alan Rickman as Marvin and Simon Jones (the original Arthur Dent) as the Magrathean Announcer.

I love every version of Hitchhikers, up to and including the photo-picture book. And since DNA did do the screenplay (well, up until he shuffled off this mortal coil), I have every hope that the movie will be a truly enjoyable entertainment experience.

Folks who won't give it a chance, sight unseen, because they're afraid this movie will somehow tiptoe right over their vision of how it should be (despite the fact that they probably didn't have thing one to do with the genesis of the story to begin with), just make me tired and sad.
