Just caught this at whedonesque.com, sorry if it's already been posted (I didn't see it.)

They talk Serenity comics toward the end. Seems it was originally intended as an animated short. Interesting stuff.

ZEEK

An animated short would have been nice too. Though I'm betting it would have been too short for my tastes. Well, I'm sure the comics and the movie will be too. But we takes what we can gets.

True that. Really, anything Firefly/Serenity is too short by definition.

This announcement (re: comics of Serenity) has been interesting for me.. My girlfriend and I tend to ridicule each other for our respective fandoms. My unabashed fan-boy love of anything Joss vs. her love of comic books (she loves something called Kabuki - has an enormous tattoo of the character on her arm - hot!). I bought her a couple of Fray and X-Men that Joss did, and now with this, it seems we're bridging the gap. She's watching my Firefly DVDs right now, as a matter of fact. And I'll be buying at least 9 comic books in the less-near-than-I'd-like future.

yeah I love it that different genres are bridged
within the expanse of Joss' work...
I knew a lot of people who didn't get my love of BtVS
but they totally get Firefly.

Would have much, much preffered the animated short but i'm glad that they are still persuing getting the story out after Universal declined to greenlight it. I'll definately buy the comic.

HELL'S KITTEN

Wow. Bradstreet doing the cover for Book. I love his art and I can already imagine how damn good that cover is going to look. Adam Hughes doing a cover for Inara would be... incredibly... incredible. Heh. Brain sleepy. (Side note: He did the art - posters, CD cover and whatnot - for the Buffy musical episode. He sent me a photo of Allyson totally loving the poster. Hee!) Yes, I am a proud, geeky, comic-book-collecting fangirl. Combining Joss, comics, and Firefly may be too much for me wee heart t'handle.

I'm happy Middleton's doing the cover for River, he's got a very nice but weird style.

(PS, Thank goodness there are comic-lovin' fangirls out there. ;))
