(sub(subtitle)) This Means You

Last Sunday, as we were nominating episodes to watch, someone suggested 1, 1 with commentary, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13. Was that you, Blade? "With commentary" threw me off & I didn't notice, 'til he told me, that it was the Fibonacci series (named after Leonardo Pisano, but don't ask, lest I digress even further). I did note that, modulo 14 (#of eps on DVD), the next numbers in the sequence would be 7, 6, then 13 again. Cute thought but, it wasn't looking useful. Today, I delved deeper (always wanted to do that).

Czeched out the first nine practical modulii (14 through 22 (there are 8 special features)) for applying the Fibonacci series to Firefly. Sometimes, OCD can be fun. Turns out that F(for Fibonacci)mod 15 covers F(for Firefly), 14 eps, in its first 19 steps. Only five repetitions. I was somewhat surprised to see that five different numbers were duplicated so, only once each. Briefly, I thought of mapping the duplicate numbers onto special features. But . . .

That’s when the going got weird. Turns out that the duplicated numbers correspond to five eps with commentary.

This seems almost like an SfromG. (With this Ring I could -- dare I say it -- rule the Middle World.) We’re a couple of weeks away from the third anniversary of, and coming up on the first anniversary of the Virtual Shindig. Let’s celebrate, and also honour Hunter Thompson, with the weirdest sequence yet for our Virtual Shindigs. And I will call it the

I moved the Pilot Commentary to the back of the bus, 'cause we just watched it last Sunday, & also to avoid watching the Pilot twice in a row to begin the series.

For those unfamiliar with our Virtual Shindigs (usually refered to as VSs), this thread explains a lot:
But the start times have all been moved one hour earlier.

Our Fearless semiFounding Xiao Mei Mei (Eboneezer) will be away this Sunday (March 20), repossessing her Firefly DVDs, so can we tip off this (Sundays only) series the following week? Or should we wait 'til after the Final Four?

By the b'ye, last Sunday we had both Blade & 'Burn there. Now if only the Plague would drop in (& bring Razor, Crash, Cereal, Phreak, Lord Nikon & Count Zero Cool), we could really HACK the PLANET!

If Mrs Smith shows up, I'll be in my bunk.
