Can anyone help me out with this... I'm looking for the complete ratings and air dates for Firefly for when the series aired on Fox. Could someone, perhaps, point me in the right direction.

I've googled for a decent chunk of time, and there doesn't really seem to be a comprehensive site with all the ratings info.

The air dates of the episodes are on the back cover of the DVDs.

The archives of this site probably have all the information you're looking for in regards to ratings.

These are all the threads in the General Discussions section of the site that had the word ‘ratings’ in their title circa the airing of the show. I didn't read through the threads to see if there were actual numbers, but this is a good place for you to start.

http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=902
http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=948
http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=1018
http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=1154

There might be more threads in other sections of the site (or with a different title). Your best bet is to load up the archives for each section (which will take forever for some of them) and surf through those threads that are from 20 September 2002 to the end of 2002.

Here’s the archived threads for ‘General Discussion’: http://www.fireflyfans.net/threadlist.asp?b=2&a=1

The way to change sections is just change the value for b in the url.

May have been on the losing side of the Ratings War, still not convinced it was the wrong side...

YT

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

The site linked above by RushMW mentions that FOX does better in the major market ratings because they lack affiliates in some of the smaller markets. That is even more true for the WB (the network that broadcast Buffy & Angel) -- it is a much smaller network than FOX. What is more relevant is how each show ranked within its own network. Firefly never ranked higher than fourth from the bottom of FOX's stable, & a few times was their lowest ranked show. I'm amazed they financed production of 14 eps.

Keep the Shiny Side Up . . . (wutzon) Sheryl Crow, "Strong Enough", from "Home"

Yes, although Firefly may be considered better than Buffy/Angel in terms of rating, it's worth noting Firefly cost a fortune. It was also on a much bigger network.

Firefly did pretty badly on Fox, let's not cover it up. Of course, a good part of that is due to marketing.
