Hey all.

Did anyone ever manage to build, or get hold of, a 3D model of Serenity?

I am working on a few projects - movies etc - and the only 3D package I know how to use is Poser! :-)

I would build my own if I could!

Thanks

Jason

My best friend uses Bryce, and has made some very interesting stuff. Supposedly it is user friendly, you might want to give it a try.

I can`t remember exactly where the download link is but there is a site out there with 2x models of Serenity & the shuttle crafts too!

Do a search on Google for it - possibly search for Firefly Mesh or Serenity Mesh.

I also have an *extremely* low-poly model that I put together. It eventually became an exercise in how low could I go; I was planning on using it with a video game but graphics card issues made that a no-go. I need to finish texturing before it's ready for use. I'm using Blender; after I finish repairing a clock tomorrow I think I'll pull it out and work on it some more.

The model you've got is AMAZING. If I remember correctly there is even furniture in the galley. It may be slow rendering due to how detailed it is. A lower poly count might be good for distance shots. You might try decimating the high poly count version to see if it would be acceptable.

That model is really nice work, but I don't have Lightwave. Has anyone converted it to something that MAX could read in (like a .obj or .3ds file)? I've heard that Lightwave has these options built in, and I'd love to be able to do some scenes with Serenity!

My mesh is in Max format but isnt finished yet.

I will be releasing it on completing, I might release the shuttle now, at sci-fi meshes.com.

I'm currently working on a very detailed model of Serenity and the shuttles in 3DS Max 5. Its not quite finished, still needs texturing, theres some older renders on the blue sun room.

I've got a max version, but it's really low polycount, so I'm not sure it's of interest. Let me know if so!

That would be awesome
e-mail it to hellcatv@hotmail.com

if you could include a .3ds file as well that would be cool (export it from max--since I don't own max and only have free/cheap 3d editors around)

at worst it could be a LOD for the big one :-D
