(PS: Hi Chris, sorry for stealing this)

Regarding tickets for Can't Stop The Signal, Chris says:

"

The situation is truly "fluid" because of the amazing response to the screenings. I can't promise anything, but you should stay tuned to the boards (including the Universal board) for news. Browncoatless people are starting to find out what an entertaining film SERENITY turned out to be (not that it's even finished yet!) and are spreading the word. It's really exciting for all of us involved in the film.

Best,
Buchanan>>

"

Regaring high eBay ticket prices;

"
Will do on the ebay stuff.

I'm always amazed that someone would pay a crazy amount for a ticket to anything... until the Red Sox got into the playoffs against the Angels (face reddens). But seriously, Browncoats should stay tuned to the boards for more news. Universal was overwhelmed by the amazing response and are huddled trying to figure out how to respond.

Keep flyin'

It's an exciting time for the movie.

America loves a winner!

Even if nothing happens and we're being fed fan friendly platitudes, it's still exciting to see that the screening has struck a chord w/ the folks at 'versal.

Pretty exciting, none the less.

We've put them in shock! So much that we made them incapable of making decisions.

I like the comment about non-fans spreading the word. I'd call them Browncoats though because that is what they have are now. They're one of us.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

There's been plenty said on another thread 'bout the execs at 'Versal being just buisnessmen, and I'm sure that's also true, but what about the real enthusiasm that must be flowing through them? I mean they are promoting a film every gorram last one of 'em must love, not an altogether unenjoyable situation, right?
Win, win, far as I can see.

Always liked Universal Chrisisall

Well.. there's good businessmen ('Versal) and bad businessmen (F*X). The good ones know when they've got a great franchise. The bad ones obviously don't... and Firefly isn't the only example of F*X's stupidity. If you watched Family Guy the other night, they read off a long littany of F*X's stupidity in cancelling great shows.

Apathy on the Rise. No One Cares.

Hmmm, there's sooo many ways you could make the quick buck off us happy fans, folks..

Better action figures (the only available ones right now are kinda lackin...)

Plastic models of Serenity!!
C'mon, plastic ships are like, a must-have for sci-fi stuff... we'd pay well for em.

And for the high-end big spenders... (or those willing to beg and borrow that much).

"Official" Brown coats, for the browncoat legions!

You want fat stacks of cash, we want toys and merch... and we're both happier than kaylee in the produce section - ya just can't lose, ehe ?

There are other threads here updating this project, but here you go. Maybe not official, but it sure sounds authentic. I can't afford one, but I'll bet they won't be able to keep up with demand.

Ok,
Here's something I'd like to see. Special edition DVD. That's sounds simple enough but here's the deal: Make it available for pre-order through these sites. We buy it now! Later when they DVDs are done, they send us the special edition direct with Our names printed in it as "Special thanks to the following Browncoats:" and add some interviews/commentaries that aren't available on the regular edition.
Now I know that may sound odd to some folk, but the idea comes from the band Marillion, who presold their last album/double CD to fans, BEFORE they started working on it. Fans received the 2CD set with a large booklet with all their names in it. + the extra music as the retail was only 1 CD. The money they made from their fans paid for the production of the double CD, completely cutting out the record companies. They only had to pay for distribution.
'Versal could easily cover their DVD production costs with this.

Visit WWW.Marillion.Com for a better way to live

When Chris was talking about Fox, he certainly talked about them as though they were still looking to see what they could do with the show. My personal guess would be an upgrade to hi-def, released on BluRay/HD-DVD, complete with special features. I suspect they'll wait and see how the movie does first and in particular how well the DVDs of the movie sell.

Way shiny pictures, thanks for sharing! Looks like you all had a blast - I am way envious. (And you really have to see to believe the Washosaur... I've never seen a costume that good at ANY con I've EVER BEEN TOO.)

Look forward to seeing you guys at Wizard World Philly (if indeed Joss+BDHs are actually going to be there. I'm getting a little annoyed that there isn't yet an official word on this)

My profile... oh you must be refering to the blog thing? That happened a long time ago, it was an isolated incident, dunno what it was but I did go to the doctor (waited a really long time, kinda a waste since he didn't do any tests beyond the basic ones and asking questions... and that was it).

I just realized I only seem to write a blog entry when something bad happens. :-S Do not worry, I'm normally doing very well, am relatively happy in life (except for the still not having a girlfriend thing...) and have good self esteem and good health.

Ok, I now return you folks to your regularly scheduled thread. That Chris Buchanan sure is a cool guy, isn't he? ;)

And I swear, I created that version of the FF title myself, no image grabbing from videos

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

I was disappointed that there wasn't more clamour for a special edition http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=7202 , but this is an even better idea.

Keep the Shiny Side Up . . . (wutzon) Paul Simon, "You Can Call Me Al", from "Collection"
