One thing Ive been thinking about bringing the Firefly/Serenity to wider audience is where to find offical promomaterial online like trailers and teasers in decent quality - ofcourse legal to use. The material I find is mostly crappy quality or fanmade containing tons of spoilers.
When refering to Firefly in forums it would be good to have link to a decent trailer for example.

This brings me to my suggestion and actual reason for writing this post. We need some form of resource page on this site. A place to find basic information about the series/movie. The content could be

History behind Firefly/Serenity
Awards and nominations
Legal promomaterial to use
Links to official sites
Contact information to Universal, Fox etc
Perhaps even a few legal to use fanbanners with slogans.

I know much of this is available on different places but bringing it together on one page would make the marketing much easier and effective. Also it would be a real fine place for newbs like me to start.

Hey.
I was thinking kind of the same thing sort of... there are also the winning trailser of the firefly fanvid contest(thread below), some really good stuff to check out elow. it would be nice to have a central palce for newbies so can distribute to anyone, including people who are unsure about spendning 10 hours to check out the series.

Just found the fanvid thread. Will sure check them out tomorrow.
Another idea. A very few selected official browncoatbanners that we can use on other forums.
This will lead to ->
1 We recognise eachother on other boards
2 People might ask what the banner is all about

3 If many of us use them we might get a "wow many people sure use those banners. Hm whats Firefly effect"
4. Firefly gets noticed on other non firefly related places without necessary bringing firefly on topic at that board.
The banners could be made as a fan contest or just be very very simple so they make people curiuos.

I think there were efforts over the summer to creat banners, check them out, I dont really post on other boards so its of no use to me, but I am sure for yo uand many people it is great. Just look around this section, you should find some banner threads. I think..

Kurya is right, there were banner contests and vid contests this summer.

You'll find lots if you do a search.

There was much hope to have a section of FFF.net open for new folks to hit when they first got here as well. It was a very busy summer and we're not done with that yet.

We of course, still hope to be.

It will be marvelous to have one centrally located place for new folks to find all the great stuff there is to see and hear.

Plus it'll be much easier to greet new folks and make them feel welcome.

yeah a welcome page would be decent. Especially when yo uwant to explain a show to someone(or a stranger) and... the omnly way to get people hooked is to show them clips and teasers and it wont cost them money.

Anyways, I created a youtube group page, something relatively easy to remember, and a great way to show to newcomers what is the verse, without any money committment and would definitely pique their interest. Almost all of the videos in this listing were winner of the fff.net contest. I hope the description is adequate, would appreciate any suggestions.
