According to James Hibberd's Live Feed, 'Dollhouse' ended its run with a series low of 2.8 million viewers and a 1.0 share--a series low.

It's interesting to note that 'Firefly' also ended its run with 'Objects in Space' at 2.8 millions viewers, but with a 5.0 share. At the time 'Firefly' was ranked as the 17th show out of 19 at FOX.

As we all know, 'Firefly' was ultimately canceled. Going by rating numbers alone, things aren't looking too good for 'Dollhouse' at this point for a return engagement. Furthermore, unlike 'Firefly,' 'Dollhouse' lacks the demo shares to motivate other networks or studios in giving it any sort of life after cancellation.

For now, we'll just have to wait and see what FOX decides in a couple of weeks and whether the DVR and online numbers are relevant enough to their business model for them to bring back 'Dollhouse' for another season.

Here are the ratings for the entire season for those of you who are interested.

Ghost - 4.7 million (2.0)
The Target - 4.22 million (1.7)
Stage Fright - 4.13 million (1.6)
Gray Hour - 3.5 million (1.5)
True Believer - 4.33 million (1.6)
Man on the Street - 4.13 million (1.5)
Echoes - 3.87 million (1.4)
Needs - 3.49 million (1.5)
Spy in the House of Love - 3.56 million (1.4)
Haunted - 2.99 million (1.2)
Briar Rose - 3.1 million viewers (1.1)
Omega - 2.8 million viewers (1.0)

We sniff the air, we don't kiss the dirt.

This is a real shame. I admit I was skeptical after the pilot, but I really got into it as the show went on, and the last 2 episodes were very good. I hope Joss gets the chance to continue to tell his story.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'm not going to bet on it, but I will be extremely surprised if we get more.

It may be over, I'm just glad Joss is back at FOX where he belongs......this is where all of you want me dead. Where is he going to go! FOX is where all us mutants end up, accept it!

I blame Fox.

Not because of editing, or reordering, or time schedules, or dropped weeks, or anything else.

Just because they're Fox. From my impressions, it seems like their viewership has been dropping for years now, don't really compare to the other major networks.

No, 24, House, BONES, American Idol, Fringe and Hells Kictchen are hits. Joss belongs at FOX, go ahead and hate me. Trash me, I can take it.

My impression is, on average, the amount of viewers for Fox is less then the viewers for other networks?

I don't really study the numbers, but I thought that was the case.

I don't know how reliable IMDB is for this, but they list a 13th episode called Epitaph One that has an "original air date" of July 28, 2009.
I must admit that I didn't give this show a chance. Love Joss Whedon's work, but I didn't want to get attached because I figured Fox would kill it because they're Fox (plus the premise seemed somewhat similar to the short lived Christian Slater show 'My Own Worst Enemy' and that didn't last on whichever station it was on). Anyway, the only episodes I watched were Briar Rose and Omega and that only because of Alan Tudyk. I watched the re-caps online of the previous episodes to catch myself up and wasn't that impressed....however, the last 2 episodes hooked me and I would watch (or would have watched) a second season.
