Hey guys! I have the Firefly blu-rays, but unfortunately it doesn't have Japanese subtitles like the Serenity BR does. I really want my wife to watch Firefly, as she is very interested in watching Serenity. She is Japanese, and can't get by with just English subs.

Would any of you have a line on some Japanese subs for Firefly? Any help is much appreciated!

How do you plan on adding the subs to the episodes? I'm assuming that you have genuine Blu-ray discs. Do you have a BR reader/writer in your computer so that you can rip the files (with the right software) and then add the subs there. I hope you realise that you can't just play the original discs with a new set of subs. At least as far as I know you can't.

I do know of several subtitle site that I use but I won't bother searching for you until I know that you can use them. And even then you have to have ones that match the exact length of the episodes (PAL or NTSC makes a difference).

yes, the plan is to rip the BR to my hard drive, then play it with the subs. Adjusting timing on subtitles is not a problem, so NTSC/PAL is irrelevant.

It's nice to read that someone has an idea of what they are doing. I see so many posts on AV forums from folks who just haven't got the slightest clue and think it's as easy as just sticking the disc on the drive.:biggrin:

I did a quick search but had no luck in finding any subs in Japanese. I even checked the Japanese version of Amazon and the only DVDs and Blu-rays on there were imports which means it may not have been released in Japan, so it's unlikely to find ripped subs. Keep an eye out on these sites and maybe ask around in the forums.
