There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Pardonnez mon français, but the only way I can describe Looper is it's a giant mind-fuck of a movie. Does that mean it's good? Not sure yet. My first impression is yes, but I need to see it a couple (or five) times more.

A non-time-travel-related question: What the hell happened to Joseph Gordon-Levitt's face?

The makeup artist who increased Gordon-Levitt's physical resemblance to Willis either succeeded too well or not quite well enough. We're deep into the uncanny valley here, with Gordon-Levitt calling to mind less Willis himself than a Willis marionette that didn't make the final cut of Team America: World Police.

Expired, forgotten, spoiled rotten.

To continue on the non-time-travel train of thought here (though that topic should definitely be explored), I liked JGL's makeup job. My wife liked it so much that she said he should have work done, but after a brief convo we just decided that she thinks Willis is hotter than JGL (though we're both big fans).

EC your gut instinct, IMHO, is dead on. And yet, I wouldn't mind seeing it again. It was the near-perfect combination of sci-fi and action. I say near-perfect because there were some non-science fictiony parts that seemed to slow down the awesomeness of this movie. But I nitpick.

Why do I think it's good, not sure, but Bruce Willis is really good in it. Actually everyone did a really solid job, Paul Dano, JGL (despite the weird make up job) and even the little boy. And Emily Blunt - wow. (Just so you know, I am abnormally smitten with her). The movie reminded me of the original Terminator story and pace. One thing though, and I guess that is why I need to see it again, I can't quite figure out the sci-fi angle - you know, the cautionary tale or commentary on the human condition. I can't put my finger on it. In Fringe, it's the 2 worlds co-existing despite obvious differences (Dems and Repubs?), just a theory.

Looper has some interesting moments, and some shiny chase scenes, with some awesome performances. but no I didn't get the message. Maybe there wasn't one, could it still be considered sci-fi? Still though, all in all, it was really good.

EC, I read your review and I wrote some comments, but for some reason it did not post. I will try to rewrite it sometime soon.
