Never mind telling me " that's how it was in the comics ". I don't wanna hear it. 99% of those who go to movies don't read the original material anyway. So, in the line of movies concerning X-Men, what in the hell was all that about ?

Listen, either they stick w/ a cinematic version of events, or they go full comic book version, but either way, PICK ONE ! I am so damn confused here. I lived in the 80's. I think I'd know if there was a global cataclysm or not. At least in X Men: First Class and Origins - Wolverine, they TRIED to weave in actual events from the past and portray them in a semi-believable manner, explanations of what ' really ' happened, which could then be censored for the rest of the world. But Apocalypse ?? Where to begin ? Aside from the obvious, how about the reoccurring meeting of EVERONE in the past, when we're lead to believe that they later ( somewhere in the near future ) meet up again, for the first time ???

Night Crawler / Kurt Vonneget ? Did EVERYONE forget they'd already seen him, and that he was part of the team ?

Jean Gray ?

Storm ? Oh, she's Egyptian, is she ? Never picked up on that from the earlier movies.

Is there any hope of understanding this ? Or should I just ignore it all, and watch the pretty FX and CGI ?

Ignore it all. Your knowledge of history, culture, science, story structure or logic? Turn that off.

It takes 20 minutes to list what is wrong with the movie. For example: These mutants also have the ability to rewrite history, since the Egyptian pyramids weren't even started until 1,000 years AFTER the date listed in the movie. The oldest known pyramid in Egypt was built around 2630 B.C. at Saqqara, for the third dynasty's King Djoser. The movie says 3600 BC.

It amazes me that those who puts so much $ , time and effort bringing us ' entertainment ' can't spend any time looking up what sadly should be more well studied and known, but what the heck... X-MEN!!! Woo hoo !! Awesome !
