Anybody seen it yet?

I just went to watch it, but the 4:55pm showing was sold out.

For Valentine's Day?

Hope it's doing well.

Saw it. It was more of the same IMO. Which is what I expected. So, I'm cool with it.

Well, the crowds finally thinned a little.
Dives right into the action. Might not need to see the first, but it would be best.
Not as much plot or character development, but it did seem to make sense.
If there is a Chapter 3, it will be a bloodbath, I suspect.

If you liked the first for the action, I would recommend this one as well.
Try not to count the rounds per clip, or pretend that he reloads frequently outside of camera view.

I forgot to mention that the scenes with Keanu and Laurence Fishburne seemed to instill the same tone and vocal cadence as their scenes in Matrix. Not sure if they did this intentionally or from habit.

Not sure either but it felt intentional.

You think intentional between them, or planned by the production?

I think both. Keanu and Fishburne together again; the whole retirement thing;
Fishburne's character is the leader of a NY gang (underground resistance)...rings a bell, don't it!

Read somewhere that Keanu pushed for Fishburne to be in this one, sent him the script and he jumped at the chance. So it's safe to say that this was intentional by all party's involved. The Matrix was a little movie that rang up major ducats and the producers would be foolish not to listen to Keanu for two major reasons:

1- the popularity of the aforementioned Matrix and, in particular, the chemistry between Neo and Morpheus
2- John Wick Chapter 1 did well at the box office; it more than doubled the cost of production (Domestic gross $43M) and made $45M internationally.

According to Box Office Mojo, it took just 8 days for JW2 to out-gross the first film. So the gamble paid off, people wanted to see those two back together again. I know I did.

Oh yeah, it was definitely intentional. Good move on Keanu's and the producers part. It seemed to work: John Wick 2 grossed $89.8M Domestically (Foreign Gross: $68M).

Seeing those two together on the big screen was very shiny indeed.

P.S. The producers worked on the Matrix with Keanu and Fishburne so there's that as well.

I must have been asleep to miss that one. I have been tired lately, lots of work, so I'll rest on that excuse.

Yeah, that's it in a nutshell, but way cooler stunts and we finally get the "pencil" treatment.
