This takes place about 10 years following Prometheus, in 2104.

Although the ending is fairly defined by the rest of the Alien franchise, I felt it was not very credible or creative.

I don't know why she didn't have a clue, or was willing to gamble everybody's lives upon it. My only guess is she was just tired. If I could see the ending as soon as the synthetic returned to her, how could she or Tennessee not see, with their lives in the balance? And they only had 7 years of travel to their destination? One human could oversee the remeinder of the trip, both she and he having lost their lifemates.

If you are going to think during this film, ignore the parts about traveling for years, then unexpectedly bringing themselves to a stop (or planetary orbit) within a few days, and also about cryo-sleep for a matter of years - like a half dozen.

If you are looking for just a thrill/suspense/horror flick, it does have all of that. But the characters are almost as stupid as those of Gravity.

You know something JSF, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Although I wasn't as disappointed as I was with Prometheus.

3 out of 5 Stars - mainly for the production value, action sequences and horror quotient. Otherwise it was a weak script.

I did not have expectations for Prometheus, other than knowing other Sci-Fi fans were agog about it's possibilities.

Question for SGG or others who have seen it:

Did I really understand that they were only 7 years and some months away from their final destination? Or did I mishear that? And they had been traveling less than 10 years? So something like a 17 year travel, making their velocity quite rapid, yet they could practically stop on a dime? This type of Accel/Decel rate on a ship merely for colonization, effectively a slow cargo transport? And why go to the trouble of cryo-sleep for every single person, with only 17 or less years of travel?
