Who's voice is it at the very end of Serenity?

The voice says "What was that?" as something flies off the back of the ship. It sounds like Wash's voice. I just watched Serenity again and played it back twice. Guess it could have been Simon but he doesn't seem to pay too much attention to those things.

I work in a warehouse at a coal mine and sometimes its soooo boring I have upwards of 10 hours of downtime a day. So I came here and was amazed that other people have the same passion for this amazing show that I do.

So I read the forums and came across this post and had to hear for myself when I got home from work.

I gotta tell ya, after replaying it about a gazillion times, it sounds like Wash...could be wrong, I am a coal miner and partly deaf, but it did sound like him.

Not dumb per se; I had the same idea you did. Sure it's listed in the script as being Mal's line and sometimes I do hear it as being Mal but gorramnit if it doesn't sound a lot like Wash sometimes too.
