Does anyone have a clip preferably in High Def of the monologue done by Book and by Mal that were before each episode of Firefly when it aired. They never put that on DVD's

Copy of the what then? I never saw it when it originally aired, only on DVD. I didn't even know there WAS a voice-over. Given how true they were with the un-aired episodes and some of the deleted scenes (not to mention the order that the episodes were arranged on the discs), it never occurred to me that something would be missing. (Unless Joss didn't care for it and it was something the studio urged, I guess...)

Still and all, Browncoats, I implore you. Smile on your original-air-date-deprived comrade in arms and at least post a script, even if nobody has video.

You can go to this site: http://firefly.wikia.com/wiki/Firefly

to read the prologues that were aired before each episode when the show originaly aired on Fox. It was similar to the monologues done by Giles during the first two season of the Buff. But unlike Buffy these were cut from the DVD collection. I've been reading smoke about Firefly coming out on HD-DVD maybe they'll include it on that set. But I'd like to know if anyone has got these clips in a wmv file or something.

I look out for me and mine.

If you buy some episodes from Itunes they have them on the begining of some of them. "Shindig", "Safe", "Out of Gas", "Ariel", "War Stories" and "Heart Of Gold" has Mal's intro. "The Train Job", "Bushwacked", and "Our Mrs. Reynolds" has Book's intro. The Pilot episode "Serenity" just start with the war. "Trash", "The Message" and "Objects in Space" has "Previously on Firefly". I don't know if it's HD but they are releasing the HD DVD version of the Firefly DVD soon. At least I think I heard that from "The Signal" or "Firefly Talk".

These intros weren't on the Fox airings of the series. They were added at some point between the release of the DVD and the Sci Fi channel airings.

We sniff the air, we don't kiss the dirt.

They also have them on Youtube, but they are not in high-def.

According to IMDB.com "The first few episodes aired on TV featured the opening credits as they appear on the DVD Boxed-Set. However, the network feared the audience wouldn't understand the show's rather complex cast of characters, so asked that a different opening, complete with voiceover, be used for episodes airing later. The Region 1 DVDs are missing the voice-over introductions that were present when the later episodes aired on television, showing only the original credits, as intended by the producers."

So we are both right and both wrong. The first few, I'm guessing "The Train Job", "Bushwacked", "Our Mrs. Reynolds", and maybe "Jaynestown" didn't have the intro but the rest did.

Book's one was used in the comic book Serenity: Those Left Behind, but obviously it wasn't said by him.

Yeah that's right. I didn't remember which episodes had the monolugues at the start. It was something that I always liked.

MOOSE

Just checked my old VHS copies of the F*X airings:

Book
Train Job
Bushwhacked
Our Mrs Reynolds
Jaynestown

Mal 1
Out of Gas
Shindig

Mal 2
Safe
Ariel

"previously on Firefly" on War Stories and Objects in Space

No intro on Serenity

Mal 2 is on SciFi's airing of Heart of Gold, but no intros at all for Trash or The Message.

MISSTRESSAHARA

I thought I was the only one who video taped them (say what you will about VHS, you can tape something then and now and not worry about waiting a long time for the dvd's to come out, if they ever do come out) That's why I wasn't going crazy as much as others were waiting for the Firefly DVD's, I could just pop my video's in and watch.

Wish I could help you out with the prologue's, but I have no idea how to transfer things from vhs to computer.
