I just rewatched the entire first disc, and something that Dobson said bugged me.

"I know what you did for your sister, it doesn't make you a killer"

It sounds like a little subplot that we would have seen in the series had it not been cancelled. Did Simon inadvertantly kill someone while rescuing River?

I think he's saying, "Just because you were willing to break a few laws to save your sister doesn't mean you've got the stones to kill me right now."

"Wash. . .we got some local color happening. A grand entrance would not go amiss."

No, that would have made him a killer.

Inadvertantly though? The way that he said it led me to believe that someone had died.

Remember the ENTIRE line:

"You gonna shoot me? You're gonna kill a lawman in cold blood. I know what you did for your sister, I understand. That doesn't make you a killer."

He's referring to Simon's unspoken threat to kill him. As I said, "You've been willing to break some laws to save your sister, and that's cool. . .but the willingness to break those laws doesn't mean you're willing to take a life."

And remember Simon's line in "War Stories."

"I dunno. . .I've never shot anyone before."

And of course Book's reply, "I was there, son. I'm fair certain you haven't shot anyone yet.

(I only make mention of Book's line because it's funny.)

*insert dumb blonde voice here*
Was Simon going to kit him with a rock? Perhaps drop a build boulder on his head like Wiley Coyote?

Simon is also careful to throttle the Fed in Ariel to black-out but not to death.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

One of the shots (first one?) of the blue-hands guys finding those two feds violates axis. For the longest time, I thought Simon had killed his fed, while Jayne only knocked his out.

Watch it again with the volume way up, you can hear when Jayne snaps the feds neck.
