What's the deal with all our BDH's goin back to 'that network'. First Gina goes on with "Standoff", soon Nathan will be on "Drive", and now our beloved Summer is gonna be back there. As much as I like seein them in my day to day life, why must it be back at frakkin FOX?! Oh well, at least it might be a somewhat entertaining show, before it gets canceled after 6 or so episodes. Actually, I think they're just doin this thing for FOX cause they know they won't be there long and their just waiting to hear the voice of the Almighty (I refer to Joss here) telling them to take up their Browncoats and follow him. Just a hypothesis. Ah, how I wait for that day.

Keep flyin'.

Well, I hate the fact that this show might lessen chances of a Firefly Relaunch. However it's great that we get a chance to see more Summer Glau kick more a** which in my opinion is not a bad thing.

...remember it's F*X; cancel, cancel, cancel-a-tious. Lookin' at it as a part-time gig until Firefly relights.

Good for her!!! I'm not worried about it getting in the way of a Firefly revival. If its any good Fox will cancel it.

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

I know that F*X has wronged us badly, but look at what they're doing for Drive. Either the show stinks (I doubt it), or they've learned their lesson. Option number 3 would be that they've gone crazy.

Let's give F*X another chance, just like our BDHs. Besides, they could be watching...

Besides, let us not forget that the Terminator films are an established and successful property, so Fox probably can A) promote the show better than they did with Firefly; and B) they are willing to give it more rope

Personally, I think that while none of the BDHs are happy with happened to their series back in '02, they also cannot reject projects that have good success potential and a furthering influence on their careers just because it's Fox

Good for Summer, I say. This may not be a popular opinion round these parts, but it don't really bother me what network's calling the shots on the show, so long as they give it a fair shot. If the BDH's are able to bring themselves to work for Fox, I don't got an issue either. Personally, as a massive fan of Terminator franchise, I can't wait to see it. That's of course assuming someone here in the UK decides to pick it up and let us in on the fun...

Anybody know or have an idea about the "timeline" for this series?

I would assume it takes place between Terminator 2 & 3...right? I assume it has to do with the continuing search for John Connor after he rescues his mom and they eliminate the "liquid metal" terminator.

But....we already know that John Connor WILL survive to see Judgement Day, and then go organize the resistance from his nuclear bunker complex.....or is this show about AFTER Judgement Day?...the aftermath of humanity....the slavery and mass exterminations...the beginning of the revolution against the machines? Talk to the hand!

It'll take place between Terminator's 2 and 3, between 91 and 03. There's very little known about that period, other than Sarah getting cancer and dying on a beach in Mexico. So yeah, this could open up for a good show in expanding the mythology of the Terminator verse.

As per Summer, I'd like to see her as the bad Terminator. She's done the good guy role, let her be a true badass. It'll give us a glimpse as to what the Alliance wanted River to be.

According to the press release its between T2 and T3. I agree though, we already know John lives AND we know (approximately) when Sarah dies. Still, I am glad to see Summer working. Even if its for (burp) Rupert Murdock.

There's another article about this at IGN:

http://tv.ign.com/articles/771/771167p1.html

So there's gonna be 2 Terminators with Summer being one of them and Owain Yeoman being the guy one. And supposedly one is supposed to be good and the other bad. Hmm...

I think they should make the female Terminator the good one this time around, otherwise I'm going to start suspecting that they think only male Terminators have the ability to be good. Plus, the possibilities between John Connor and Summer's character could be interesting.

Gina, Nathan, Adam ( briefly ) and now Summer. Seems to me that F*X is doing everything to possibly set up a relaunch. I mean, so many of the BDH's are becoming such regulars on the network, wouldn't putting them all together be the best of all scenarios ?

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

I don't understand this show. The title character is going to fail ... pitifully. Skynet will go online. Much of the human race will be killed off in a nuclear apocalypse. How much fun can a show be if your main character fails at her only goal and then dies of leukemia?

I once thought it would be interesting to have a show about the Enterprise C before it appeared in The Next Generation and it was pointed out to me, repeatedly, that no one wants to watch a show where you know everyone dies at the end. (For those of you who don't know Star Trek, that Enterprise was basically a sacrifice. It and everyone on it had to die for things to work out as they should.) Those who pointed that out were right, people generally don't like that kind of thing.

So how can a show whose plot is, "The main character, Sarah, is going to try and fail to do something, then she is going to die of a hematological malignancy," survive?

I look forward to some gruesome hook kicks. It's going to be weird to see my lovely little River go all evil-like. I didn't read any articles, so I don't know if she's good or bad. I'm a bit dreary.

Seems like someone needs a lesson on temporal mechanics...

Imagine this is a timeline:

A-B-C

You see, if you want to stop event event C, B must be changed. IE terminator I

A-Bb-

Bb represents a change resulting from changing previous events.

A-Bb-Cc

Cc represents an alternate future.

The events of T3 can be altered by changing the past...so the events of this show are not written in stone. An alternate timeline can result from just a minor change in the event Bb. This has occured three times so far...this show will document at the very least a fourth.

This concludes day I of Temporal Mechanics, next week we'll cover chickens eggs and trees that no one hears.

On a serious note I'm really looking forward to this show.

Some ones been watching too much Stargate. To put your temporal mechanics in easy terms, there is a alternate universe for every decision made, therefore all possiblities are possible. Take for example the alternate ending of T2, my god that was bad! An old Sarah Connor surrounded by grand kids. Thank god Cameron didn't go with that ending or Summer wouldn't have this job, or should I say it would have been 'TERMINATED'.

Thats right, I watched too much Sliders.

Well if you use jubalisearly's theory that even things which appear in the "present" of the movies are subject to change that would not have prevented Summer from getting the job.

Summer's gonna be a Terminator.

She's gonna beam into our world from the future.

You know what that means? She's going to start another TV series completely naked.

This is almost becoming a pattern for her. First thing she does, coming on screen, is appear with no clothes on.

I'm not complaining. Very not complaining.

.

Twelve spheres of unendurable brightness spalled the velvety blackness of space.
The silence on Lester Tourville's flag bridge was absolute
And then the spell was broken as Shannon Foraker looked up from her console from where she had just sent a seemingly innocent command to the main computers of State Security's finest Superdreadnoughts.
"Oops." She said.

i think some people who are worried about summers participation in the terminator series getting in the way of a relaunch of firefly are forgetting that she kinda needs to keep working shes hardly an established actor so therefore needs to get as much air time as possible the firefly cast cant wait around for the ressurection of the series it wouldnt be fair to them
