From our friends at Universal and some dude named "Peter Jackson."

I love story, but since my background is photography I tend to be drawn to how a film looks - and this sucka looks fabulous! How long before some film critic gets goofy and calls Jackson, "The next Spielberg?"

Yeah, I saw it last night and am now really looking forward to December when its released. When I first heard Peter Jackson was doing King Kong I was a little skeptical about whether or not it would be any good because I'm one of those people who didn't like any the Lord of the Rings movies. But from what I saw last night, I'm thinking it's going to be action packed and genuinely interesting.

I clicked, I saw, and now I'm psyched.

Here's another big budget 'Versal pic I'm looking forward too.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?

Never mind the trailer - how different does Peter Jackson look these days? Hardly recognised him.

America loves a winner!

Likely my only problem w/ this movie ( I hope) will be the absurd notion that a T.Rex would lose a fight w/ a big monkey. No offense to Kong, but if a T.Rex gets one good chomp, game over. Hopefully we'll see a more intelligent Kong use his smarts, and not his brawn to tangle w/ his Cretaceous foe.

Now now, surely we all know that T-Rex was a wimpy scavenger, who picked off the bones of the dead or dying! At least, that's the box I ticked for the poll at the Natural History Museum!

My money's on the big monkey!

Smoking crack much? I'm not one for doing what everyone else does (I'll be dead before I go to a Texas Hold-em tourney) but I have to agree with the 99.99999 percent of the folks who thought those movies were brilliant.

Hey, it's all about respect and conveying attitude.

Several years ago, my house cat gave my puppy a bloody nose and, at the same time, scared the hell out of her. That puppy eventually grew to be 5x the size of the cat but remained afraid of it for the remainder of her life... even after the cat was declawed! The cat always carried itself the same way and never backed down from the dog.

Weird things happen in nature. If T-Rex is afraid of Kong, I'm certain there is a good reason for it.

Maybe Kong is part cat.

Wait... that's not the point I was trying to make at all.

Really big monkeys, cats beating up dogs and a crack smoker who didn't like LOTR - nice.

Reminder: King Kong the movie concerns nonfactual actions and details, many of which could be construed as "fiction" or even characterized as "imaginings." Because of this much of the movie may even seem to have been written by Hawley M. Smoot.

You Jack Horner types... You think that the strongest teeth and jaw muscles of any land animal EVER were meant to rip rotting flesh of the dead?

T.Rex ate anything it wanted. INCLUDING big monkies!

I'm curious to see how this T.Rex moves compared to Spielberg's critters. I wonder who helped PJ on this one....

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Oh my God! Just saw a clip of him - my wife and I nearly flipped out, "was that Peter Jackson??!!" I've seen the effects of losing weight on people but that was just kinda... weird, like it was someone else with his voice. I hope he is "ok."

Gollum! Ack! Maybe he DOES have the ring ...

Ain't It Cool News has a good article about the trailer:
http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=20605

For anyone interested the author complains about the resolution of most trailers (Serenity on the other hand in HD is amazing) and to bolster his point he has links to 2 stills from Kong in higher definition. These are incredible! If you think the trailer looks lame just look at these - for both the image and imagination detail.

Click the link in my signature. Click through a few of the entries in the archive. The mental capacity of the T-Rex is continuously underrated.

I feel a little better about the movie after seeing the trailer and Jack Black wasn't his usual goofy self. And yes, it does look good.

I'm not an expert on either dinosaurs or giant fictional apes, but....

Apes in general are *retardly* strong, well, except for humans. I'd think that a Gorilla would be capable of killing or dropping anything close to its size with a single full force punch. King Kong would probally be able to shatter every bone in a T-Rex in about 5 seconds.

Not to mention that being an ape, King Kong would be smart enough to pick up a boulder and throw it with enough force that the T-Rex would swear that it had just been beaned in the head with a rocket-propelled wrecking ball. Right before it died.
