Mal spared the dandy's life. What would you have done? (I don't think Jayne would have been so inclined )

I think I'd've let him live. I try to avoid killing people whenever possible.

As one to follow the Shaolin code, I wouldn't have even given him that extra jab, much less kill him.
But it sure was funny to see Mal do it! Ha ha

So, how do you feel about ritualistic neutering of bad people!

*spits*

I'd have just nipped him across the cheek.

He's a prettyboy, and could use some character.

That'll learn 'im!

I'd have let him live. It was an honour duel, and I don't believe that killing a man should be a matter of honour. It's bigger than that.

Besides, a tente is typically fought to first-blood. Intentional killing can sometimes count as a forfeit. 'Course, that's a pirate thing, so not sure how it would work among less-civilized folks.

In a real fight, yeah, I'd've aimed for the throat or the heart (lethal, if the sword was in his hand), or the limbs (non-lethal, if he'd dropped the weapon and/or fallen). If I must kill, I tend to try for merciful quickness.

Why does it have to be ritualistic?

If it would have been me I'd have handed him his ass. But then, I can handle a sword. I'd have let him live.

LMAO Everything seems more impressive when it is ritualistic! You know, make it an event!
Soveneir T-shirts with "My folks went to a ritualistic neutering and all I got was this T-Shirt"

I don't know how to handle a sword, so he would have probably killed me first. However, if not, I'd probably end up killing him on accident. I'm one of those people who find the statement, "I have gun and I DON'T know how to use it." much more scary than, "I have a gun and I know how to use it."
