the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

I haven't read the comic book, but found the first poster (with "V for Vendetta" the only text) intriguing. The second, with the tag line "People shouldn't be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people", enthralled me. I went to the website, which was the first place I saw "Remember, remember the 5th of November".

Q: Have any Brits heard any rumblings about shelving the movie, or changing its release date?

And for those who were intrigued, possibly enthralled, by the title, then disappointed by this post, please feel free to start your own thread about the feasibility of replacing "B" with "Q" in the word "Brits".

The movie is still scheduled for a nov 4th or 5th release. From the looks it is going to follow the comic closely also. The comic wasnt about a terrist per se it was more "im trapped in a facist state what can i do to make this world better" kind of thing. V believes he is the catalsyt of anarchy to wipe the slate clean and start a new order of democracy. The comic was very touching very thought provoking and very very coooool. lol
check out the offical website to see the awesome trailer and it will give those who are fans of the comics chills.
i know you are refering to the london bombings and the connection with the movie but honestly.... its a whole different animal. :) hope i helped

Actually no i missed the whole thing. I was interested in watching though but never got the chance to. Looked like another show that the execs gave up on too soon though, as usual. lol

I bought the DVDs, sight unseen, 'cause I liked the characters in a couple of eps of X-files I'd seen. I would've canned the series after the third ep, had it been my choice. After the pilot ep, it becomes a broad comedy. That isn't what I expected.

Latest word is they are still planning for a Nov. 4th release, undeterred by the London terror attacks.

If it was supposed to be released, say, next week, they might have postponed it. But there's no reason to when it's a few months away still.

You ought to; I recommend it heartily, and only hope the movie is worthy; unfortunately, upon reading a late-draft script, the graphic novel's author, Alan Moore, has disowned the movie.

He really hasn't had a film adapation worthy of it's source material as yet -- From Hell reportedly oversimplified an admittedly complex storyline; League of Extraordinary Gentlemen dropped a carefully constructed plot to substitute another, inferior one, and screwed up Moore's ever-so-precise chronology as well.

Still, hope springs eternal. If V for Vendetta is only half the story the original is, then it will be better than 90% of modern film.

And if it isn't, well, sometimes I cast his stuff in my head. Adam Baldwin with some grey in his hair as Tom Strong, Summer Glau and Gina Torres as the human and demi-goddess sides of Promethea, Nathan Fillon as Grayshirt... the list goes on and on...

Hey Joss -- ever read this guy Moore?

OMG Gina Torres Pomethea? Why did I never think of that? I don't agree with Summer though, how about Jewel instead? Much more fluffy and more voluptuous - much better casting

extremely dimensionally transcendental
